Crazy Shimano question

I have a couple of Shimano Exscence reels. I love the reels, but do not like the T-wing handles. I have searched for aftermarket knobs and didn't see any I like. Would it be as simple as swapping out the T-wings for the standard Shimano spinning reel knobs?

I would recommend calling Shimano Technical Support.

1-877-577-0600

I actually prefer the T-handle and have switched out several  different Shimano 2500 reels

on which they were not OE.

Shimano was able to quickly & accurately tell me what was compatible

and what I needed parts wise to make the switch.

Was even able to place the order on the spot.

Good Luck

You can go crazy with this stuff.

Any Shimano A or Daiwa S knob will swap onto your handle.

Shimano technical support will not take you very far, they do have I-knobs and T-knobs, and limited Yumeya choices - they all swap.

Answering your exact question, yes, it's as simple as swapping the T-knob for the I-knob.

Here's my TwinPower with a Livre counter-balanced handle and my favorite EF30 knob.

Not suggesting this, but showing the crazy part.

Nice! I love customization when it serves a function.

I would check out Gomexus. The prices aren't bad and I love the way they feel. They are also super smooth. I have replaced three casting reels so far but no spinning reels yet.

Came here to recommend Gomexus stuff too.

I've gotten used to these handle knobs on my bait casters, so I've replaced all the factory handle knobs with BNT5768 on my spinning reels, just feel natural to me. BNT5768 is a LH.

Gives you an idea on what's possible I hope.

2x Spheros SW 3000 (came with T-handle)

1x Stradic FL 1000 (came with Stradic FL 2500 knobs)

1x Stradic FL 3000 (came with T-handle)

1x Vanford 3000 (came with T-handle)

Exscence should come with 2 handle knob bearings already so you should be good there, I think.

Don't forget to get shims (BNT6555) and the end caps (BNT7074) if you decided to use Shimano handle knobs.

There's a ton of options out there though.
