I've thrown a C-Rig once or twice, but I'm going to be more committed to it this month. I want to make something similar to these pre-made rigs, but I don't like the wire and want to recreate it without it. What's the circular brass piece called between the two lower red beads, can't seem to find it on Amazon.

 

Old school that is the ticker disc. Karl's bait has a Carolina rig kit with all the parts included to put together 2 rigs.

Thanks! Looks like a few online retailers sell it, but in black but that works for me!

I'm not a fan of the pre-made rigs. Just buy yourself a package of the beads. swivels and some weights of your choosing.

Brass clacker.  IMO, you don't need it.  Bullet weight, bead, swivel, and you're all set.  If you really wanna simplify I've seen people just put bobber stops below the bullet weight and not even have to use a bead/swivel or leader.  Good luck!

Carolina keepers is what I use. Weight, 2 Carolina keepers, hook. Love c-rig.

Ditto. I’ve become a big fan of the keepers. I usually add a bead between the weight and the keeper for maybe a little more “clack”. I’ve also started using the same keepers when I rig a dropshop, one above the hook and one below, both pushed up tight. For me, they do a better job of keeping the hook perpendicular to the line than any knot I’ve been able to tie.

That’s a good idea. I’m going to experiment with both. 

The only other item I would recommend for C-rigging is to add a "Bump Itz" at the very top of the rig. It's like a big soft rubber bobber stop to keep you from reeling in too far and damaging the top guide of your rod. I routinely see people C-rigging, that due to the extra long leader that's hard to cast, reel way up to the tip and do damage.  I've done it too, these help a lot ~
