For me personally it is spending the thousands upon thousands of dollars I have on all the gear and equipment I own and I hardly ever go anymore. I feel like a tackle collector at this point. Still love to do it, just at a weird place in life where  the motivation just isn't there like it used to be. Hope to change that soon and rekindle my passion again.

"action before motivation."  i had someone tell me this, and it struck a cord.  sometimes our brains need a reminder to the stuff we enjoy.

Super easy for me, seriously injuring or killing a fish.

  • My 1st reaction is this must be an older winter thread resurrected. No, it’s a current spring time thread! Every day on the water is a good day. The worst thing about bass fishing  is not going.

That’s easy,  jet skiers and wake boarders.

Looks like bass fishing can lead folks down many different paths, some of which can alter their lives forever. After all, it’s a $60 billion dollar a year industry here in the US. And who in the heck wouldn’t wanna jump on that bandwagon lol Like everyone! Which has turned this sport into one of the biggest money pits imaginable, all consuming. Many only fish for dollar signs. And sometimes that’s what I don’t like about bass fishing…what it can sometimes turn people into.

Been there, just step away from it completely. Find other things that motivate you and enjoy them. I was out of the sport for about 8 years and now I take it easy and enjoy it when I'm out.

Boat prices

Second on that, Boat pricing and expensive costs of maintaining it.

The perfect cast, to the perfect spot, that for sure holds your PB bass just looking for something to munch on.. and the lure lands on the one tiny weed floating in the water that you didn't see, and it totally kills the action of the lure and spooks the bass.

Pike….they have no respect for expensive BASS lures.
