Charlie Brewer Weedless Slider Head

Featured Replies

I have a few packs of these heads but can't seem to get them rigged right.  Anyone have any photos of one rigged?  Just want to see what it should look like.  They don't seem to be bent for a true weedless presentation.

I understand the basics of rigging it texas weedless. Its not that simple (with the ones I have anyway). I also have Owner Bullet head jigs.  The hook point and the head line up. On the slider head, the bend in the hook doesn't lend itself to lining up like a traditional offset hook.

I use them, and I know what you are talking about regardind rigging.  I usually have the hook point right underneath the plastic,  so the worm is straight.  The hook point doesn't allow for a traditional skin hook.

Thanks.

Thanks for the photo.  I did a google search for this and never had a decent photo show up.  This is how I’ve been rigging them.  I sharpen the hooks before hand but I still feel like they don’t get the hookups other versions get.

Here’s another pic of a rigged finesse worm on a Slider head. Keep in mind that CB makes both the “old school” smaller bronze hooks as well as “Pro” versions with a round bend black nickel needle point hook which are a bit thicker wire. One or the other might work better for you depending on application. Hook setting style/technique also plays a role.

The Brewer Spider head bronze hook version is available with 2/0 or 3/0 hooks.  I use the 3/0 for bass plastics, it provides better hook up rates than the 2/0.
