Now that I’ll buy! I‘ve floated 20 miles in a canoe before, didn’t allow for much fishing time

The math just didn't add up. Even 7 miles one way going 5 mph is going to take you about 90 minutes to get there. Plus 90 minutes back. It better be a really good spot if I'm traveling from point A to point B for an hour and a half.

It goes about 11-12 miles an hour and I make a 12 mile run in it frequently, quite monotonous and loud haha. My throttle hand is usually cramped by the time we arrive

Traveling by truck is much faster than traveling by boat for me. The bigger lakes here all have multiple ramps to use.

You guessed it , I only do that when I’m running up shallow rivers in the middle of nowhere. Usually there’s not even a ramp, just a steep place to shove it off the trailer

Not even really a "ramp." More like a slip n slide of mud into the river.

You'd think that six wouldn't tucker me when my three longest paddling trips are over 2,000 miles, 1,400 miles, and 200 miles.

I fish in Chicagoland, IL and there’s not too many bigger bodies of water within an hour (for fishing trips <2-3 hours) that allow bigger boats with motors unless they’re electric. A kayak would allow me to fish the smaller bodies of water and get in and out of the water relatively quickly, especially since I only really get 2-3 hours to fish a couple days in the week. Have a couple questions for you kayak guys (or anyone that has input): - I’m currently in an apartment so does anyone have any ideas as to where I can store a kayak if I got one? I would get a kayak that has pedal assist in it preferably. - As far as transportation goes, would I need a small trailer for it? I have a sedan right now not sure if I would be able to pull it but maybe it’s possible? The goal is to get a bigger place someday soon but just wanted to have a couple questions answered as I continue my own research. Thanks! Howdy UmairF, You might look into a inflatable Kayak/SUP. Greg Blanchard's got a You Tube video out where he tested one he just got. Looked like a fairly solid ride for an inflatable. Check out some of the inflatable SUP's too. They've got something out there that would work for you to get out on the water. Lot's of harbors (Montrose comes to mind) and spots to hit in the Chicago land area. Yeah maybe for now an inflatable is more practical then I can bump up to a nicer one down the road!
