Little tip I learned long ago is to cut off the stock treble with a hook cutter & add a split ring instead. Then you can add the treble hook of your choice or add a single hook like a siwash hook or spinner bait trailer hook or an owner 4101 single replacement hook that makes the spinner more weedless than a treble hook.

@Munkin I preferred that chunk over the "standard" #11 even on jigs. Uncle Josh also made one with a single tail that was killer on Johnson Spoons or a Snagless Sally. 

1/4 ounce Panther Martin is a creek and stream staple.  For me, they do especially well fished through riffles and swift current for summertime smallmouth. 

I use 1/16 Rooster Tails to go after panfish, but I'll switch up to the 1/4 size if the bass are interested in the bait.  I also have some Mepps and Blue Fox inlines, but the fish seem to like the Rooster Tails.

Favorites are #3 or #4 fire tiger Blue Fox Vibrax or Mepps Black Fury with yellow or orange dots. 

For Smallies the fire tiger Panther Martins are really good.

Not as much as I should but the 1/4oz inline spinners can be killer for smallies

Got a 24 inch smallie on a gold undressed # 4 Mepps 3 weeks ago.  NW Ontario.  Love Mepps.  Basically all I use for bass, pike and eyes.

Anyone have problems with line twist on these?  Is a swivel helpful?

I don’t have a problem with line twist on my spinners. If you do, it’s because the entire lure is spinning, not just the blade as it should. 

The Hildebrandt Snagless Sally has been a staple for me since the mid 1960’s. And I always use a trailer on it.
