Question for the hammers out there

Why should a professional's choice to use electronics prompt someone to "feel physically ill"?  I would figure as professionals, they know what it takes to elevate their chances of putting money in bank and paying for all that fancy gear: more power to 'em 😉

As the old bluegrass gospel song states:

"You go to your church and I'll go to mine.

But we'll walk the road together."     😎👍

I think the illness comes from the perceived over reliance on the tech, which is in itself, at least to me, antithical to the pursuit of fishing. When I look at the latest tech systems that they need to be competitive and catch bass, it makes me want to run for the hills with a fly rod, maybe to never return. It is not a choice for them. Everyone else has the advantage, so everyone has to get all the latest big tech sonar, or get sidelined to pitchin spinnerbaits and casting rattletraps. In their world if you are using a search bait for a fish you can't see, you are already behind.

Rather than relying solely on electronics, I ... and probably a lot of other people... find electronics are just another tool in the bag used to find bass. You can watch electronics to see structure and watch for fish activity, while still studying the wind direction, see indications of bird activity, fish surfacing etc.

I often will see how a fish or multiple fish at 10 feet deep or more react to a crankbait running too quickly or a jerkbait I'm fishing. Plenty to learn there.

I'm always surprised how electronics, and other people's use of them, irks some people who don't chose to take advantage of what they have to offer. Freedom to chose and all that, and respect the choices of others whose choices differ has always been my motto.

Yup! I like fishing out of my canoe, yet I also enjoy watching bass tournaments. If I were to feel ill, I would change the channel 😂

That’s fair.

But finding early season bass in the finger lakes is tough.

Preparation

I don't care if I were fishing the Bassmaster Classic or the bayou across the street.

I only know only one way to fish, the energy level is the same!
