Which one would you get for throwing an 1/8oz jighead with a keitech swing impact or easy shiner ?

Well, 2" Impact is about 1/10oz, 4" is 3/16oz, 2.8" Fat is 1/8oz

Add 1/6oz (1/8oz jig head + hook)

 

We're looking at right around 1/4-5/16oz total

 

702 for the win.

703 at least. 

I've been using a 703 for the last couple years for those same baits using 12 pound hybrid line. I'm actually just now trying out braid/leader to see if I can increase hook-setting power on long casts. I often make long casts along structure and get bit really far from the boat, which can make it tricky to get a solid hook set. 

All that to say, I certainly wouldn't go lighter than the 703.

I have the 703, really like it.

Something I often hear on this forum is that Dobyns rods are on the softer side with their rod ratings, something to consider.

I have the 732 & 733 Champion spinning rods and definitely wouldn't go with anything less than the Dobyns 3 power. I (just me) have no use for the 732 at all.

If you are using sharp lightwire hooks the 702 is fine in my opinion, but it is on the lighter side.

 

You’ll also be fine with the 703. The 702 is a killer ned rig rod and the 703 is more for your shaky heads or dropshots

I’m actually looking to purchase this exact rod. Going to pair it with a bg 2500. The guy at the tackle shop said the bg may be too heavy for the rod but extra weight in a reel doesn’t seem to bother me much.  is it more of an extra fast or fast?
