Can one buy parts directly from Daiwa?

Featured Replies

I have been buying parts directly from Shimano for years via their website.  Does Daiwa offer a website similar to Shimano's?

As far as I know, no. But you can buy from plat.co.jp; it's pretty much the same as ordering from Daiwa directly.

Try calling 562/375.6800 and ask Daiwa US.

Call their US numbers if you know the part.

I’ve called Daiwa directly with the part number and they sent me what I needed

Daiwa ships parts direct. A few times I tried to order small parts, and they sent them to me for free.

Excellent customer service.

You can, but you have to give em a call and its noticeably more expensive than it is when ordering from PLAT. PLAT is the way to go, especially with the current JPY conversion rate.

That site is difficult to get around on. I tried looking up Steez gears a while back, and could find any gears for any Daiwa reels on there.

You can also order direct from SLP Works by using a proxy service.  You'll get parts a lot faster that way.  The Japanese shops only receive parts from Daiwa once per week, so if you don't have an order in by Monday morning, you'll be waiting a long time.  Ordering from Daiwa USA also takes a long time as they use 3 legged blind mules to traverse the country before it winds up at your door 2 to 4 weeks later.

Here you go https://www.sl-planets.co.jp/shop/. Chrome will auto translate.

You can order parts directly from Daiwa but be ready to wait months for it to be shipped.

I ordered a new knob handle directly from Daiwa for my Daiwa reel and it's been a month.....I called them to check on my order and they said it will take longer due to QC....I ordered a $6 part and they have thousands of orders that need to go through QC before being shipped....I am guessing they do not have enough employees.....QC for a $6 part😂😂

What a joke.

I would suggest buying direct from a retailer..... The part I need for my reel is not available from retailers in my area.....

If you buy directly from Daiwa....don't hold your breath......be ready for a long long long long long long wait.....

I had a completely opposite experience as most with Daiwa USA in that I ordered a handle collar for an older reel and had it within a week. The only thing I could complain about was the part cost $2.00 but the shipping cost $4.00 and change which I can’t fault Daiwa for. IMG_4455.jpeg.7d9c81737183bf5808879cec42e43759.jpegIMG_4457.jpeg.e8bca93a1e93d32e31c0fc6cea60d8a3.jpeg

I need a tip guide for a rod and this is what I did. They sent it to me for free.
