Super User J._Bricker Posted September 7, 2024 Super User Posted September 7, 2024 I’m happy they posted the schedule, some interesting fisheries. As for coming out West, I’m fine with the Delta and Clear Lake being left off it. From my understanding of things, communities that paid up didn’t realize the financial benefits they were expecting to receive in hosting a tournament. And last time out you got to pay $300-$500 for the privilege of being a “Marshal”. Add in travel distances for the pros, lack of ancillary support, and sticker shock in regards to rooms, gas and food it’s understandable why the circuit doesn’t go west of the Rockies. I think the MLF Team format would work well on the Delta or Columbia River but that ain’t gonna happen. Now I’ve got to get back figuring out my cheese pairing over the FFS conversation. 2 Quote
Pumpkin Lizard Posted September 7, 2024 Posted September 7, 2024 Lacrosse is interesting, I used to live there. It's a huge fishery with nearly endless opportunities. Of course back then I was purely trout fishing in the Driftless so I didn't fish it that much. 1 Quote
Super User bowhunter63 Posted September 7, 2024 Super User Posted September 7, 2024 Looking forward to the Mississippi River. My old stomping grounds. Miss that place 2 Quote

It looks like endless opportunities, especially when the water is higher and you can get into more of those backwaters. It's a stunning area of the country too, in general. That drive along the river in the fall when the leaves are in color is a sight. 1 Quote

The Driftless area of MN/WI/IA and even Illinois looks like the shire. The bass fishing in the river is amazing and it has wild trout fishing in an uncountable number of spring fed creeks that is only rivaled by the Rockies/Big Sky Country. Quote

Tlauz Posted September 8, 2024 Posted September 8, 2024 I watched one BASS event this year. The Open on Leech. I will watch some of the Lacrosse event also. I love it when they go somewhere most anglers have not been and they have both LM and SM and anglers have to decide what species to fish. It helps that Leech is in my neck of the woods. The NC stop and the Mississipi stop interest me. The best thing I watched this year was the MLF Team event. I enjoyed listening to the guys talk and them working things out. It was unique and enjoyable to see the guys interacting with each other and strategizing. I would love to see BASS do some unique events that don't count in standings but let us see the anglers on smaller bodies of water with smaller fields. Maybe this could be a way to get out West. My 2 cents, I am fine with what all the leagues did with FFS. NPFL will be different. MLF will add a new strategic element and BASS will all have the same basic set-up on all boats. Watching fishing should be like fishing, enjoyable. If you don't like something don't watch. There seem to be way too many people upset about things. You can always tune out and go sit in a boat! Tight Lines. 1 Quote
Super User F14A-B Posted September 8, 2024 Super User Posted September 8, 2024 I love the Florida tournament trail, because I lived there and fished it really hard. The one I’m looking forward to the most is the Mississippi River tournament.
