Fishing memory vs day to day memory

Featured Replies

A couple of years ago I drove to the river to launch the boat, pulled into the lane, got out to prepare the boat and it wasn't there.

I remember so little of anything that isn't fishing related, it's concerning really. I can tell you where the rockpiles and stumps and laydowns are that produce fish for me in almost every lake I've fished with any regularity. I can remember catches with great detail. Ask me to answer a question about something not related to fishing that happened more than a couple days ago, I got nothing.

I have pics of almost all my memorable catches and with the exception of current and previous personal bests, I'd be hard pressed to name the presentation, lure, weather conditions, or even their weight or length. I remember the fight and how many times she jumped.  Go figure.

I remember the big fish, yessir! Luckily my memory seems to automatically add a pound or two each time i recall those catches. 😊
