this is on a rod I dont truly love.  I thought about simply dumping the loose guide and taking this rod out into the ocean to overload it with halibut.

but I am not made of money...sad.   I will fix it.  guide, spool bobbin loaded up with some thread, superglue?    from follows function, here.

I've bought a couple of kits from this Amazon store.  They are not the greatest quality but they have worked on one my rods and for a few friends.  I will admit I am a novice and my repairs look terrible but they have worked.

The thread is a non negotiable item for me.  But standard epoxy will work.  I've repaired rods on the road with 2 kitchen chairs, 2 books and a shot glass.

Braided line and super glue won't be pretty but they work. Whip knot and coat it in super glue once it's done. Like @TnRiver46 said, clear epoxy will be prettier, but is more work and takes longer to dry.

Find custom rod builder out there. Shouldnt be more than $20. Id do for free if you were near me

Watch a video on replacing rod guides or building a rod. You don’t glue the guide on!

Good point Tom👍🏻

I would use clear nail polish before superglue, at least you have a chance to remove it if future repairs are needed.

Lead head is right. The tread holds the guide in place the chosen finish is to protect the thread, it serves no structural integrity purpose. Clear Hard as Nails is the best option for a down and dirty repair without the time and hassles of epoxy resin. Tension the thread so that you can move the guide with firm pressure. Not too loose or too tight.
