IMG_2670.jpeg.2056978d2239475adeb3c8f5d264c1e6.jpegI’ll start by saying if @Glenn or another moderator feels this can be added to @Mobasser’s post feel free to do so. So I’m interested in knowing what everyone else’s routine is as far as products? My current routine is at least every 3-4 weeks depending on condition of my boots I wash them with Dawn dish soap followed by a liberal application of Red Wing “All natural leather conditioner” or Danner water proofing spray on my suede work boots.

I've always heard that mink oil (and other viscous oils) aren't good for boots because they soften the leather too much and can cause damage. I guess that's probably dependent on how much you put on at once.

With that said, I clean with saddle soap and occasionally buff on a harder wax like otter wax or something similar.

bonus, your hands will feel amazing afterwards.   it smells like bee honey to me.

i use it on everything.  my wife's car seats once.  purses, (hers, not mine), boots, shoes, belts.

true story.  i put some on a leather wrist sling for my hunting bow.  that sling went on/off three bows, and still looked perfect.  i would buy a new bow, and move the sling over.  rain, snow, desert heat, that thing never wore out.  and i put Obernaufs on it once.  a single time.

Mentioned this is the other work boot thread.

We've been using Sno-Seal for a long time.

Protects our leather boots from rain, sun, snow, and salt.

Simple, safe and effective.
