Happy Father’s Day!

Remember all the Dads and Granddad’s.
Including those who aren’t with us anymore.

My family has been on baby watch since Thursday.
This will my first granddaughters first child

Things were progressing nicely then nothing, everything stopped for some reason. She’s not considered high risk and her due date was last week.
Her doctors made a decision to induce labor at 5:00 this evening to help things along, before they just go get her.

It would be great if she decided to meet her Great Granda sometime today but anytime soon would be just fine too.

Happy Father’s Day to all fathers.

My father is who taught me how to fish and I owe my love of fishing and the outdoors to him. Not only did he teach me how to fish, but I can’t remember him ever saying “no” to me when I would ask him to take me fishing. It was either “alright go load the rods and bait bucket in the car” or “I’ll think about it” and then 20 minutes later he tells me to get in the car, he already loaded it.

I also never remember him being too busy or tired to play catch with me. I was in a lot of baseball leagues and would always want to practice my pitching or take ground balls and he would never hesitate to go out in the yard and play catch with me. He would never miss a game, and would coach the team if his schedule allowed.

He was a present, loving, hardworking, excellent father, and I owe so much of the man I am today to him. He is in his 70s and his health isn’t great so I don’t get to fish with him much anymore, but we still watch the Braves together and I always share the pictures of my catches with him. Couldn’t have asked for a better dad.

My wife and son got me a 30 pounce T-bone steak from the butcher for a gift.  Good lord this thing is like half a cow.  Might have to turn it into two meals lol

@Jar11591 Not only are you lucky to have been able to share time with your Dad but your Dad was lucky to share his time with his Son.. Great job

I always tell my wife not to make a big fuss and she usually just takes me to a nice dinner somewhere. Well this year she lied and said she wasn't doing anything for father's day and surprised me with this. She presented me with a  Bubba scale lite on our way home from Florida(We were returning from our summer vacation in Orlando yesterday)

I've been having the joy of my 4 year old taking more of an interest lately. Took her fishing from the dock for the first time with her own rod and some worms and caught a few. She successfully picked up a worm so I could hook it, cast her own rod, set her own hook and reeled in the fish all by herself. She was extremely proud (it was the biggest blue gill all day) and we made a big deal about it!

I've learned her attention span is about 30 minutes to sit there but she wanted to follow me around while I fished. The day was gift enough.
