And people don't want to come to Mexico and catch DD bass because they are worried about their safety.  I have zero problems on the lakes I fish.  Everyone is always polite to me.   All I ever see is big smiles, and people offering to share their lunch and drinks with me.

I love how you keep telling the truth, that Mexico is a safe place to fish. There's too much fearmongering in this world and it can get in our heads and curdle our thinking. I was walking through the woods in total darkness this morning and for a sec, fear took hold of me, but I cast it out and kept walking, focusing on the thing that was most likely to hurt me, which was tripping on a root or rock and falling.

Ok this thread, like many has jumped the shark!

To the OP I too have “wind” issues with my canoe. However I do have a trolling motor that I use to get to an area but still struggle with losing spots if not set up quick enough at the right angle.
My biggest problem is I don’t use my anchor!
I carry one but never deploy it because I am programmed to fish “bass boat” style; slowly moving parallel to the bank, docks or structures I want to fish.

Watching @A-Jay’s videos has made me determined to drop the anchor and slooooowwww down! Outside of spotlock on a trolling motor it’s the easiest and best method for drift control. Anchor down, stay away from an area and cast to it or set up on the open water humps and structure.

If the wind is low, wind blown casting or trolling is easily accomplished with just a paddle.

My brother-in-law (fishing partner) always says “it’s all about boat control”.

Whereas I certainly helped jump the shark, I also directly answered your question, with tens of thousands of miles of paddling experience and tens of thousands of bass behind that answer.

Was not my question and your reply was on point.

It's  me I 100% hijacked your thread OP Sorry about that. I'm old, opinionated, and I tend to ramble, and sometimes I forget to remind myself of that.😁
