His boat and motor are older than me.  No chance he has a Solix in that fossil.

My poor boat is far from a fossil. I’d like to say it has patina. Fish finder I’ve got is a garmin 73sv. it works pretty good really.

My garage is 19’6” with the door closed.
I could park a Triton TR-175 w/ 115 hp Optimax and swing tongue trailer straight into that space without any issues. The key being a swing tongue trailer.

You have options!

respectfully disagree with this.

Max load ratings are there for a reason.  Safety.  Engineering.

It's not only unsafe, but if you exceed that rating and get in an accident, your insurance will not be covering you.  The amount of wear and tear on your tow vehicle will also go up substantially.  I personally wouldn't go past 75% of the tow rating myself.

Braking safely is also an issue.

Very good points.  Especially the braking issue.  I narrow mindedly was focused on cooling and basic ability to tow.  I stand corrected.

My garage set up is unique. We’ve got a big 2 car garage with an attachment to it. My garage is about 31’ wide by 25’ deep, I can put 2 cars and my boat into it. That little attachment room on the side also needs to be accessed.

I looked at a fury in person today. I’m in love! What a nice boat.

I'm looking hard at the Fury 1600 SS.  I like the wide open cockpit that runs the entire length of the boat.  There is a small step to access the front "deck" but nothing like the height of the step up to the front deck on other 16' boats.  At 77 years old, that's a big plus.  Basically you're always "inside" the hull of this boat.

Plus, the Fury has the IPS hull, the beam width is carried further forward before it begins to taper, and it has reverse chines, all helping the boat remain stable.

I really really was impressed. I found a brand new one for 15900 at the dealership. If I had the extra cash it would’ve followed me home that day. I’m going to our vinyl or Eva in my old boat for now and start saving my Pennies.

Jitterbug, that chocolate cake is making my mouth water. Just curious, is the fury going to replace the Smokercraft or Lowe?

Smokercraft. I sold the Lowe earlier this season. I LOVED that boat, but the bench seats were a pain in the butt to jump over all day.
