The photos of the location and of the countryside are great and I really enjoy seeing those.

Heck, yeah! So many of us fish in beautiful places and I love seeing that beauty. I also like to share where I cast so that others might see something similar and give it a try. Like this:

There are some of us that go fishing several times a week, like I used to do, and catch 1-3 fish each time.  IMO a report that tells this doesn't help except to tell people you're a lousy fisherman.

Just because you have a day with little to show for it doesn't mean you are a lousy fisherman.  A trip report that describes what happened and maybe the anglers thoughts on why the poor results would be beneficial.

"If I fished only to capture fish. my fishing trips would have ended long ago."

I agree.  I spend time on BR mostly to learn and improve.

Sometimes I'll learn more on the bad days than the good ones. If you're not learning from your failures on the water, then you're not growing as an angler. Also, if you're afraid to fail on the water, you're likely not growing as an angler. If you go out and do the same thing, in the same places, every time, you'll likely get the same results. Maybe you're happy with that, but I'm always trying to learn and improve on the water. Offering reports and results from a bad trip gives other anglers with different experiences and viewpoints the chance to act as a sounding board for you. What could/should you have done differently? What are the likely reasons you were unsuccessful? I've learned a lot from listening to others and reflecting on my day on the water. The answer is often right there, it sometimes just takes a different person's point of view to realize it.

That's me Alex!  🙂

I really stink at this but I love being on the water. One of these days I'm going to hook something big that doesn't turn out to be a Drum!
