  • Our ice came early this year, so I fear it'll leave late because it'll be thicker than normal. Being inland, Andy's Michigan gets colder than we do, but it also gets warmer than we do. We don't have w

We still have lots of snow on the ground but it's showing signs of warming up. Even though it's tomorrow, This week's Tanker Tuesday submission is happening tonight. It includes a pair of 6 lb Lake E

  • According to my wife's FB I caught my 1st LM bass of the Year on April 2nd in back to back years on the same lake at almost the same time of day, ironic. My projection..... April 2nd 😁

This morning RECON was mostly obscured by fog, but I was able to get a couple of decent glimpses at the lake.

We do have some open water. Along with some 'long strips' of ice flows.

I'm two days from my prediction and I might even hit it.

As usual, the windy, cold & dank weather will be returning for a while.

Even if there is open water in a day or three, forecast is telling me next Tuesday is probably the first trip with the potential to actually get a few bites

and not freeze my arse off in the process.

Time to make the rest of my final preparations.

Not exactly sure what they are, but there's a very decent chance it will include a little insomnia.

btw- am I the only mope on this site who still doesn't have open water ?

Still ice this morning, but very little.

Will check again later today.

Might wet a line midday tomorrow, which puts me right on my date.

Who knew?

I've had a few first week in May dates that started my season as well.

Taking it one day at a time.

Looks like you’re gonna beat me out there. I saw a roadside pond open today but all the real lakes are still covered up. Looks like the low temps will be back in the teens this weekend.

125 days on the nose.

First time that's ever happened.

And I was rewarded with a gorgeous Lake Menderchuck specimen.
