And it’s cold AF here. 30° with feels like 16°. I bet the run from civitan park this am was fun…wonder what the longest run was this am…

Shaw is putting on a clinic. 63 for the first period

I drove by Guntersville on my way to Chattanooga this afternoon. I didn’t figure anyone would be where I was driving by, as for tourney, it’s not a high percentage area, annd there weren’t…anyway, it looked absolutely miserable out there. The winds had to be about 10-15 sustained with 20-25 gusts.

I would love to see Andy Montgomery win, fished all day today not using ffs, not that there is anything wrong with that lol

Man, the top 3 are destroying everyone else.

Are they not limited to 5 fish per day as far as scoring goes?

Edit: I see now "Every scorable Bass counts".

Is this new or has it been like this for a while? Never watched much tournament fishing, Ron Nelson is from my hometown, always pull for him, but rarely watch.

It seems like every scorable Bass counting would really give an edge to FFS, but never fished that body of water and don't know anything about it.

I don’t watch either, but…that body of water is awesome. If you ever find yourself down this way, I have a spare bedroom. I live about 45 mins from Lake G. That goes for anyone on this board. If you ever find yourself at Guntersville and need a place to stay, hit me up. I’ve got a spare bedroom and my wife wouldn’t mind if I spooned with you..

I was there for a week in October 2020 for the Kayak Bass Fishing Nationals. I liked it, but was pretty humbling 3 days of practice in a kayak just wasn't nearly enough for me. Wouldn’t mind getting back down there (for fun) some day.

Come on. We’ll hit some of the off path kayak areas

This tournament is getting interesting. Somebody is going to catch Drew Gill. The question is who.

I have started paying attention to Drew - he seems like he is probably the next Van Dam to me. Or Clunn. Or whatever. He’s ice cold and brilliant. Every time that man talks about catching bass I learn something new.

Agreed. I really sat up and took notice after his appearance on BTL a year ago. Amazing interview. He clearly articulated an entirely new (to me) approach to catching bass. Structure, cover, location, etc. are all distant secondary to getting a fast, accurate bead on exactly what the fish want right now.
