I’ll be so real with you, I do the same thing. Color doesn’t enter my mind unless I’ve already caught something on that lure. I’ll grab a different lure 9 times out of 10 b4 switching colors to the one I have on

Primary is profile, especially when fishing plastics. Color and contrast is more of a fine tune when profile is established. That’s my approach.

If the bite is slow like it is now, I try to rig everything with a low profile. After I get the profile how I like it, then I start swapping out different colors.

I'm one that thinks profile is more important. We all develop favourite colors over time.

I fish 3 colors generally. And rarely change while out fishing. I feel I do a lot better focusing on profile and presentation

In my worm/creature binder while walking the banks of fishing locations in the Pine Belt in MS. my colors are Green Pumpkin, Watermelon and June Bug using Yum Dingers in different sizes. They work for me.
