Nishine Chippawa

Featured Replies

Lot of hype when these came out, and haven't heard much since. Anyone have experience they want to share? Going to place a JLS order and looking for add-ons.

I have one in the ghost shad and a bone color both have caught fish. I haven't fished them as often as I should. I have the ones without the blade.

I am a big fan of Nishine Lure Works - so I have a number of the Chippawa's (RB/Bladed, DD, DD/Bladed, XDD) - I have found the Ghost Shad and Bluegill colors to be best for me here in MN (clear water) - I have found the Bladed versions to be the better fish catchers for me.

They sell the blades separately so you could always add a blade to a non-bladed version.

I wish they made the Chippawa's in their Yellow Perch and Juvenile Largemouth colors as I have the Baby Albino (spybait/propbait) in those colors and they are awesome smallmouth slayers.

I also have the Simcoe (lipless) and the Erie 95 and Erie 115 in Yellow Perch, yet these have only been ok fish catchers (I was expecting more from them because the actions and the Yellow Perch color are outstanding)

Have two and they catch fish. Not sure if they are worth the extra over domestics on sale but if you can get them at a good price I’d go for it.

Get some Deps evoke squarebills instead. I have a couple of the Nishine never caught a fish on them.

I have 1. I've had it for a couple years which means it must come through wood and rock well ,

I like the mat finish.

I've got a set of them, all bladed, different sizes and bills. I also really like the finishes on them.

I've caught bass on them; was down at that Elite tournament at Lay Lake a few years back - rented a house with a dock. Only two lures caught fish for me at that spot - the bladed Chippawa in the color KP Duty posted, and a Bandit 200 in 'Mistake.' Besides a few bass, I could not keep the drum off of them. Eventually lost them, the Chippawa broke off to some lake monster, and the Bandit to a snag.

Also had a huge cottonmouth follow a Keitech Fat/Flashy Swimmer in, and almost get on the dock with me :(

Right on. Haven't seen the 'mistake' color in a long time. Here it is for those not around 20yrs ago.

The finish is one thing that does set these lures apart. I feel like a bright finish or glossy coating sometimes just doesn't get bit. I also like Nishine's jerkbaits as well.

Megabass has a few good colors with a dull finish, like matte shad but Great Lakes Finesse, to me, has the best matte finish of any soft plastic. It would be nice if they expanded into bigger baits.

Agree 100% I've been using the snack craw as a Finesse jig trailer for a year or so. I love the finish.
