Boat motor

Featured Replies

I hope this is the right place to asked this question. My brother has a 9.9 hp Mercury tiller steer motor, 3 yrs old, 15 hrs run time, plus fuel tank, line and flush muffs he's wanting to sell. What would you guys say it's worth?

Depends how bad he wants to sell it. To family maybe 1,500, non-family 2,000. I'm assuming it is a four stroke.

Brand new they run $3,000. I’ve seen much older 2 strokes going for $2,200. I think $2,400 would be fair.

I'd start with a higher price point and leave some wiggle room for negotiation. If someone offers you the initial price, then you just take that.

Gone are the days of $100 per HP. 😢

Depends on the age of the motor - the rebuilt '73 25hp I put on Bass Trek I paid $30 a horse for.
