Facebook Logo

For the last few days, anytime I open a thread, I get a very brief, full screen sized, Facebook logo, before the actual thread opens. Is this a paid ad, or is this a glitch? Anybody else seeing this? I don’t have the Facebook app, and I virtually never use Facebook.

I see it. I thought it was just me. Glad it isn’t.

That question was answered a long time ago.

You are going to have to dumb that down so I know what cache you mean.

Here's my theory concerning the mysterious f

Look at the top of this page. From left to right you see the MENU button, the Bass Resource logo, and then a very small f. I think that is the f you are seeing. It's flashes on the screen full size before the browser squishes it down to the correct size. Open the link below in a separate window and see if it's the f you have been seeing.

Yup!

I think you’re onto something @Tennessee Boy because I see the Bassresource with it too.

Hey guys -

It's the icon at the top of the page next to the Bassresource logo. I performed some server updates over the weekend, so clearing your cache will solve the problem. And if it doesn't, then install the latest version of your browser.

This message will be repeated over and over and....oh, it already is. Nevermind. )

I clear my cache daily. I installed the latest google chrome and it is still there.

I’m on the latest version of my browser in iOS26.4, and my cache has been cleared. I’m still seeing it.

Frankly, your browser shouldn't have had any issues with the update. The forums are working fine.

That said,

@12poundbass Your current browser is 146.0.7680.151 and the latest version for your iPhone is 147.0.7727.11 You're very much out-of-date.

@Jig Man and @Scott F Your browsers are current. However, clearing cache is tricky and often folks don't get it all cleared like they thought. I suggest looking at YouTube vids to find a few tricks to completely clear it out - and even clearing your OS cache helps sometimes.

3 people, all have different browser/OS configurations and different model phones. Everybody's personal system has its unique quirks. There's also people that use VPN's, IP anonymizers, ad-blockers, strict anti-virus settings and more. There's just too many different variables. The forums are working fine, so I cannot provide any further technical assistance. I suggest turning off those programs 1-by-1 to isolate the issue on your particular device, or whitelisting Bassresource.com.

@Glenn interesting. I checked and everything shows they’re up to date. That being said, I’m not the most tech savvy person.

Either way, everything works just fine on my end and the quick shot of the Facebook F and the a Bassresource logo isn’t a big deal to me and like I said it’s literally a split second that it pops up when I refresh or open a new thread.

I cleared my browsing data reinstalled chrome cleared safari cash and still have Facebook logo.

  • Super User

I have it too, but I'm willing to put up with it. lol

  • Super User

I have no idea what you guys are talking about cause I don't see it.

Maybe it's a Windows/IOS issue - since I dumped Windows and went to Linux, my system has never run smoother....oh, and Android OS is based on Linux, which is why I probably don't see this happen on my phone or tablet.

Safari. Deleted Cache/cookies/etc. Had to close and re-open the tab, no more flashing F now.

Where's the epic picture to go with the lol words?

And all of the sudden, it's gone.

Vanished like a fart in the wind

Im glad other people saw it too. I thought I was gonna have to quit drinking Yea don’t have Facebook.

I see it - a fairly recent development - but I’m running ancient stuff and not going to try clearing everything out and updating. Bad things usually happen - lol. I’ll live with it.

I’ve never had this before and it’s every time I jump to a different topic now.

Just deleted everything and it’s still here. Idk
