Why did I wait so long?

I just recently started using superglue to glue soft plastics onto jig heads. It’s a game changer for me!

Dissolve some baking soda in water and keep it in a spritz bottle. It will set gel type super glue instantly.

If you are using a jig with a spinner (Okashira for example), make sure you don't get the glue around the blade. It will seize up.

I switched from SuperGlue to Loctite Super Glue. One drop not only holds the plastic, but it dries super fast. Put it on, replace the cap and it's ready to go.

Some super glue and a Bobby garland minnow and a 1/16 oz jig head has resulted in 50 fish in an hour! Super glue is a very economically sound tool to keep in the kit when you’re fishing!

Soft plastic and jig manufacturers shudder in their boots when people mention super glue because you’ll go through 1/10 of the plastics catching 10x as many fish and you’ll get more bites because your bait doesn’t foul up when it lands in the water which may be the single most important thing glue is doing for us!

Mend it is the same but for soft plastics and well worth the purchase.

More of the glue cured in the bottle than on my lures, gave up the effort...

I used to be in touch with a Loctite research chemist. He sent me samples of the gel to try before it was available in the US market. I think it was sold in the U K back then. I’ve been a loyal user since.

I keep an open one in the boat, a new replacement in the boat glove box, an open one on the work bench and a new replacement in a drawer.

It does take a minute to dry. For the lures I use the most I just glue up several beforehand. But if I wanted to make quick changes on the water it might not work so well.

@Bazoo - I just started using the super glue more often this year - it certainly helps the baits stay on and catch more fish ! I have also started using "ear-ring stops" (small plastic pieces that can help keep the bait in place on the hook) - I was using some fishing specific ones (Harmony ?) yet I have found I can purchase 600 of the "ear-ring stops" (a variety pack so they can fit different hook sizes/baits) for about $6
