Okuma X Spinning Reel??

Featured Replies

I have not used the reel to be honest but I have the x series casting rod and im very impressed. it's extremely light and sensitive. I wouldn't be surprised that the reels in the x series line are popular

Not me. I do have a few of their baitcast reels which I like. Especially my Helios Air reels. Okuma isn't popular around here. I've always felt I got good value for my money. No idea on the spinning reels but think the few times I did read about them that people had the same opinion as I do.

Although I don’t own any reels branded Okuma I do own 3 of their casting rods and I feel they are a steal for what I paid. But I also do own 2 Dream Tackle Design Reels which were a collaboration as Dream Tackle Design manufactured only the spool as far as I know for the Hakai bait cast reel. They then used the magnesium Hakai frame painted it silver vs black and used a short shaft spool design with red or blue accents and sold them for themselves. I will say after owning these I would have zero issues buying an Okuma product but if you can find who’s manufacturing them for them as I don’t believe they manufacture their own reels no differently than Lews, BPS, or many others you may very well save a few bucks such as I have.IMG_3858.jpeg

My fishing partner uses nothing but Okuma spinning reels and has been very pleased.

He's not going to spend for X series though.

Can't imagine it being nothing but a successful experience.

I have had and have a number of Okuma spinning reels with success.
