Daiwa Zillion TW 150

Featured Replies

I know a couple of anglers who believe Daiwa's Elite Series are better casting reels than the Zillion.

Another excuse to keep raising prices without manufacturing tooling changes. Just like the metanium. Is it slightly different ? Sure, but it’s a constant resetting and normalization of a higher bar$. It’s gotten very old at this point.

It seems us bass fisherman will take any made up stuff that’s thrown at us. Is it slightly different ? Sure, but it’s a constant resetting and normalization of a higher bar$. Interesting how parallel thread on TT forum has a dearth of negative assertions.

I think @Eric 26 was right.

@newapti5 Ray's gets "cheapened" on some forums, but they copied KTF Kahen spool, who invented SV inductor and let Daiwa copy it. But Ray's went one better and invented their tapered SV inductor, which functions like SV Boost. I treat all my Ray's (and KTF) spools as general purpose for the thicker end of threadline braid.

I originally spooled mine with that 15 lb j braid, but after using it for bfs for a little while decided to switch things up a bit. It casts so well and far that I have to try it with some slightly heavier lures like a 1/8 Texas rig or maybe even the bfs bladed jig. I put a full spool of my 1.2 varivas on it and I’m going to try it out.
