When I was younger, all I used was Ande mono.  Anyone still use the stuff?  I know they're still in business...

Ande is THE fishing line for those seeking line records. As far as I know, this is the only line that is IGFA certified. Guys that do more saltwater fishing might know better than me, but I think Ande is also the line of choice for them.

ANDE line is not for everybody who is used to fish with the most common lines in the market, specially when it comes to it 's Tournament line which is one of the very few IGFA line class certified lines available in the market for the record hunters. If the line is 8lbs it will break at 8 pounds not like most lines that overtest and are not good for record hunting.

im no expert but my uncle who saltwater fishes alot for trout and stripers uses the stuff alot,last i knew he had a huge sool of it that could last a lifetime lol  

Submitting a trace of Ande Tournament line with your catch, removes the pain from line-class certification.

Although Ande is extremely tough line, it's very wiry which I believe is the reason it's not popular in freshwater.

In saltwater, I used to use Clear Ande for "everything" (with the exception of monel and lead-core line).

Used to use Ande green and pink. Braid came along and I changed over completely to that. But always felt ANDE was one of the best: had total confidence in the product.

Never used it in any form or color, but you asked. Plus i don't like my odds at catching any record-breaking fish anytime soon.

I have used Ande for over 30 yrs.  No better line for saltwater.  I used it for freshwater too until I decided to experiment with smaller diameter lines.  Ande IS top quality.

I fish Salt more than I fish for bass. I really never tried it. The people in my circles use Berkley or Suffix mono or Braid.
