Hypothetical reel question

Featured Replies

I look at these threads where someone asks what reel they should buy on here.  I always personally say the Revo is the best choice other choose a Shimano  or Diawa or whatever other brand.

But lets just say you had to go right now and buy one reel to use from now on. The only thing is all you can do is lubricate it. When something breaks on this reel you have to quit fishing forever.

In other words what reel do you consider bulletproof. I vote 4600

A Garcia 4000 or 5000 series reel from the 70's.

I would have to say some kind of round heavy reel like a Quantum US 600, Daiwa Luna, Abu Morrum, or Shimano Calcutta.

I have a few of those old Quantum 600's and believe me, they will take a beating.

Shimano Conquest 101/Calcutta TE101GT.

Zebco,  those things last forever!  Thats why everyone has one lol. And of course an ugly stick to go with it if you cant replace a broken rod either.

CTE200GT

Strong, smooth, silent and reliant.

This is a reel that is virtually indestructible.
