broken rod

Featured Replies

my rod snapped between the eyes about 1/3 down from the tip. It's a clean break.Has anyone ever had one fixed or is it junk? Warranty is expired and is my favorite rod. thanks.

what kind of rod???

It will never be the same rod if you fix it with that much missing.

.02¢ from a rod builder.... ;)

A break that far into the tip action and repaired would change the action to extra, extra, fast tip plus make the rod super tip heavy. Just taking a tiptop and adding it to the broken spot would change the tip action to extra fast. The power (backbone) of the rod would change to heavy.....

Time to get another...

Welcome to the club, I broke my bps finesse caster last week, broke about 12" off..my fault. The sad part, it was new, never landed a fish with it.. ;)

So ...your sayin bps will replace my rod free..?

Any house brand rod will be replaced by the respective store....no questions asked.

usually if you show up at a store with it they will.

Yep, BPS stands behind their products very well.  Take it in and they will exchange it for a new one.

Later, ;)

As long as you have the receipt they will replace it and of course the remaining piece of the rod. I had a similar experience with Cabelas rod and it was replaced no questions asked.

They won't replace rods bought online, atleast the one in Cincinnati wouldn't

They replaced one for me but I had the receipt and it was within 1 year. After that I do not know. Show up with the rod they do not need the bad press or a dissatisfied customer. Their customer service as BPS is excellent.

Well, I'll start with a disclaimer: Make all purchases with a BPS VISA.

I have never had a problem, receipt or not, "Could you look it up for me?"

;D ;D

Well..I found my recipt, and it's been a tad over 2 months since I bought it, so I'm heading to bps tomorrow..I'll be really bummed if I drove all that ways for nothing..I'll let you guys know what happened.. ;)
