Bought a GPS Finesse Pro 6'9'', 1/16 to 1/2 oz. for throwing weightless worms and small cranks. What reel would be best? BPS has Extremes Pro Finesse and Rick Clunn reels on sale, or an extra $120 for a Revo STX?

The pro finesse is built on a frame that is eerily similar to the Abu Revo Premier.  I use a BPS Extreme 05 and am happy, from the reviews I have read and personal experience of friends who have them you won't go wrong with the pro finesse reel.  It is a real sleeper in the fishing world.

The older Premiere is still on sale at tackle warehouse for $165....the stx is $135 for LH

as i read the post it wasnt clear those were the only  options the OP was looking at. i also assumed the OP bought a BPS rod and not a GPS rod.

I think any one of the reels you listed would serve you well. 8-) I have been very happy with my BPS reels and think they are a good value. I use Extremes and Pro Qualifiers. The PQ is a great reel for the money IMHO. I believe it has the same dual braking system that is used on the Pro Finesse and the Rick Clunn reels. That system allows for better control than you can get with either centrifugal or magnetic systems alone IMHO. Many in the Shimano posse, and others will disagree. : ;D Good luck.

Ah, ok.  I understand now. In fact, I even misunderstood his post.  So to clarify, here's deciding between a BPS Extreme Pro Finesse, Rick Clunn reel, or a Revo STX, and wants some help deciding.

Tackle Warehouse still has the first generation STX available. These are fantastic reels. For $135 they can't be beat.

I've been fishing weightless wacky worms all summer on a creek running through our back yard.....The Pro Finesse reel throws them effortlessly, and I've hauled in a dozen 3lbers, a couple fours and a TON of legal fish.

When I'm out fishing I use the reel for my jerkbait rod. It's light, casts a mile, good backlash control, smooth as silk, small frame, and not too fast.

I'd like to try the new ones as well. The one I have is last years model.

BPS's Pro Finesse is an intriquing reel.  It seems to be very nicely made, though I've never seen the internals.  The fit and finish, though, is as good as any brand.  The new grips are really nice, too.  I've found myself checking this reel out frequently. 

I've been old school with my fishing reels up until last year. Almost all of what I did growing up was Musky fishing so I got used to, and never stopped using the round Abu reels.

But I decided to upgrade to the L/P reels last winter since my hand was starting to get tired of the large diameter.

I took apart all 3 BPS reels when I got them, to clean them and check out the internals. The longevity of those round reels makes me worry about all other reels.

But the BPS reels were built very solid. I'm pretty impressed.

i like the revo stx, but i dont think you could go wrong with either.If i were you, handle both then decide.

It's not often that I get to promote a BPS baitcast reel in a thread that specifically asked about a BPS baitcast reel instead of some other brand. I love the Extreme reels I bought. I honesly could have seen them being priced at $100 each, even though they actually sold for less and I got them on sale even less than that. But mine are the ones with the older ITB braking system. New Extremes only have a magnetic system. Probably still a very good reel but somewhat different with the braking now.

I've always thought of the Pro Finesse as just a "golden Extreme" with the way it is built. Very similar in design. Never personally used one of the PF reels but if the Extreme is as good as it is and is on the lower end of the BPS lineup with aluminum frames, how can any reel they make that is supposed to be higher in the lineup be any worse??

I guess a lot of people here already know I do a lot of shopping always looking for the "get more than what you pay for value", if such a thing exists. I have not found this yet in spinning reels, but for baitcasters I believe the BPS reels are as close to this as one will ever come to finding.

Additionally, I have taken my Extremes apart for cleaning in the past and found them to be constructed solidly with brass gearing, slick bearings, metal parts where needed, and only plastics in places where other reels use plastics as well such as on the levelwind gear for the wormgear (all my previous Abu Garcia Ambassadeurs even had plastics for levelwind gears). I'm no expert but I do believe that you are getting the same quality reel you would pay for with many big name brands, but simply paying less for the amount of reel you are getting......making them the "get more than what you pay for value" mentioned earlier.

I have that exact rod and put a BPS prolite finesse reel on it and love it. First fish on it was a nice fat 20.25in largemouth and the setup handled it without issue.

Thank you all for all your input. I'll be ordering a BPS Pro Finesse reel today. I realize that  there are better options, ''for a price'', but I believe this will work fine for me. I favor the round reels also and if money wasn't a factor I'd be ordering a Shimano Conquest 50, but I do like eating as well as fishing. Thx again!!

I have used all three of your mentioned reels, and to answer your question directly, I would choose the Revo.  If you value advice from other fisherman and would not get upset with a mention of a comparable alternate, then I would recommend a Curado series as well.  Apologies up front if this advice offends you.
