G. Loomis Kicks It Up A Notch!

I guess I am getting confused. So this isn't the North Fork Composites blank that Kistler uses for his Z-Bone customs? How similar do you think this new G-Loomis blank is compared to what Gary is doing with his newer company?

Edit - I guess its more of a timing thing. This thing has been in development for how long? And how long as Loomis had the Northfork company?

Edit 2 - I guess what I am really getting at is...thats a s***ton of dollars for a production rod not from Japan.

Gary Loomis hasn't been with G.Loomis for a number of years.

I thought Gary was just a consultant with the new company.

It's a great looking rod.  According to one source, they should be available in mid August.

Already made a spot in the rod locker for a 804, to be followed by a 852.

Being that it won best in show at ICAST I doubt that it looks cheap when in hand. That being said... I don't think I'd trade 2-3 Avids for 1 of these.

Let us know how they compare to your other high end rods when you get one.

I'm buying the 893.

Your picture perfectly describes you.

;D

Dems are pricey rods!  :)

Sorry man, I'm out.  $300 is about my limit on rods.  If y'all like spending that kind of dough on rods, then knock yourself out.  I *** you.  I really like G-Loomis rods, but that's just outta my budget range.

I hardly believe Recoil guides and late to the dance split grips are the stuff of which standard setting tackle is made of.  Loomis had their day in the Sun.

didnt the rod win best of show at ICAST?

cant wait to try one of these. im probably going to wait till xmas and get the gf to pick it up for me :)

been dreaming of the 803 with a core 51

anyone know when they'll do the mbr rods?

The proprietary rod blank is the buzz among rod manufactures.

G. Loomis has raised the bar...again.

8-)

Definitely something to dream about,  but thats a little out of my price range also.

R.W.,  if you get rid of one of those 842's to make room,  let me know!

If it feels any better that my new NFC custom then I won't know what to say, except how fast can I order one!

Theres nothing wrong with my GLX! iM NOT CLICKING THAT LINK! Financial trouble ahead! :)

Those sure are purdy lookin....

My wallet isn't happy at the thought of them.

Hope they didn't go with Recoils on these.

The rest of the guides are black REC Recoil.

:-?:-/

I was surprised to see that they stayed with cork.

That black hypalon is all the rage these days.

I much prefer the feel of cork, but I gotta admit that the  hypalon looks cool.

St. Croix's new line went that route.

Kudo's to loomis for staying with the best.

I'm sure these will be fantastic fishing rods. However, I would have been more impressed with TiSIC's all the way down the blank (especially given the price). I'd also have to see those wraps in person... look a little gaudy in the pics I've seen. Then again, the rod may be so superior that one could overlook the guides and wraps.

Anyway, for a price of over $500, I'm sure they will be offering a 100% warranty, and guarantee a "boatload" of fish on every outing. ;D
