Out of my own stupidity a year ago i used my bps extreme in saltwater and its getting to where the gears are grinding loud and i checked it and the gears are caroded. Is there anything i can do to fix or should i just replace

Sorry to hear about that. As a rule of thumb for me, any reel I usen salt water needs to be at least washed down with fresh water and clean (as in checking for debris and such inside the reel on the inside after every trip without delay. The world could be on the verge of nuclear destruction, and I will still clean them. Well that's my anal philosphy on it. Many of my reels serve both fresh and salt and I don't have much gear so every thing I use is treated with great care.

A second vote for a new reel. On the bright side, getting the bait monkey going is not a bad thing.

Id say replace its not that high dollar of a reel and will most likely be more trouble than it's worth.

Send it to the BPS Reel Repair Service on their web site and they will tell you what it needs.  Sounds like bearings corroded (an inexpensive fix).

X2...My bps reel has seen the salt water for 6 years now. I hose it down after each use.

You should post a pic of those gears as well. The main gear was showing signs of oxidation but I was able to clean it with a product called Bar Keepers Friend. I also used that product to clean the brake hub or drum, whatever you want to call it. It works great.

Noise doesn't necessarily mean that the reel is shot.  If you have the time and want to tear it down, flush the bearings, clean and lube every part, and you may end up having a reel that you thought was trash, but  works better than when you got it.  If not then consider it practice reel maintenance.
