Favorite Fluoro?

Featured Replies

I've been usin Berkley 100% for a few years with little problems. Few loops and wind knots on spinning reel but no biggy. What do you guys prefer???

I fish 100% berkley also. At first it was a pain because i must've spooled it on wrong or something. Twists galore. The second time i spooled it, i made sure i took all of the line off after spooling it, and reeling it all back on with nothing tied to the end of it. It was great after that. But at the end of that season i got a kink and lost about 1/3 of the spool in the middle of a cast. It was the last time of the season i fished for bass though...so it was alright  :P

I have another spool of the 15lb berkley and will use it.

Sunline Sniper FC, it's my favorite, but I can't necessarily afford it every time

I like Seagaur InvizX and AbrazX, but BPS is good for a little less.

I want to try P-Lines fluoro.

I am currently using BPS XPS and Seaguar Red Label but have some InvizX, AbrazX, and Sunline to try out next year.  I tried McCoy earlier this year when it was on sale at TW but it was very inconsistent and seemed pretty weak and stiff.

I've used P-Line, Berkley, Vicious, Triple Fish, BPS but the best I've found was Sufix. It fishes well on both spinning and casting gear.

Tatsu

I consider the cost prohibitive and will not be buying it again.

However, if that is not important to you, this is the finest line

I have ever fished.

I've only used BPS XPS, seagur invisX, and Berkley vanish. I have no complaints with the invisX, and XPS. The vanish broke too often.

XPS Fluoro has never given me a reason to complain about it.  Good stuff.  Seaguar AbrazX and InvizX are have both been good to me as well.

Ditto!

I've given Berkley a shot this year on spinning gear. Its ok, IMO but will be switching back to XPS once I've used up what I have.

Berkley 100%, XPS, and Sunline Shooter have all worked well in larger sizes for casting gear.

<- Seaguar InvisX for spinning

Well, for my leaders on my lighter setups, I use Seaguar InvisX. Works fine for that.

But I'd no sooner use it as a main line, than I'd use any other monofilament. Everybody understands that fluorocarbon is still just monofilament, right ?

As a mainline, fluorocarbon is just kinky, coily, twisty.... and compared to braid, stretchy garbage.

Peace,

Fish

P-Line Halo has impressed me quite a bit this fall, although it is on the pricey side.

One downside of the line is that its durability can be compromised if you "snap" your line like a bowstring when trying to get a lure unstuck.

I still use the stuff because of all its other positive qualities.

I usually stick to vicious on my fluoro set ups.  only problem i have with it is the durability.  but i usually reline my reels about every 2 tourneys cuz i get bored.

I have used gama and xps I like both the gama is more managable in the heavier weights but the xps is about half the price

I hate the stretch but it's hard to beat Invizx on spinning gear.

I like a slightly stiffer line on a baitcaster than most so there are several that I can live with. Trilene 100% and BPS are decent. I'm in love with Toray Solaroam Upgrade for a heavier line, 16lb. So far, it's lasted longer than lesser priced line, balancing the price scale in it's favor. It shows no sign of slacking up either. Still feels slick and new. Haven't tried it in any other size though.
