I have always used RatLTraps and Spots pretty much interchangeably.  I tried an Aruku Shad last year and caught a lot more fish with them.

I usually fish Lewis's and Rapala's, but in the last part of last year I starting fishing the Red Eye from Strike King. I plan on fishing it a lot more in 2008. ;)

Red Eye is a great lure, it has awesome action

It's REALLY close between RatLTraps and Rapalas. I throw RatLTraps more because they're a bit cheaper. But the Rapala's are my "go to bait" Both are EXCELLENT!

Between the Rat-L-Trap and my berkley, I have had better luck with the berkley. I think my sucess is due to color, rather than brand. I am looking to buy a few different color rat-ltrap or vibra-traps sometime soon.

ALERT: My local Wal-mart has been put rapala's and other Name brand baits on clearance!

SPRO Arukushads

Lucky Craft LV0, LV300N, LV200, LV500

Xcalibur Xr50, Xr75, XrK75

Cordel Spots

BUT, though I seldom ever fish one anymore, my PB came on a 1/2 oz. Trap dragged on the bottom in a March tourney at West Boggs a few years back.  It was a chunky 7-9.

I'm willing to bet that it's more about lure action, assuming you're throwing them both in the same place then color. Lipless cranks are a true reaction type lure. Fished right, you tick off the Bass and they react into bitting it for a quick meal.

I like anything color that resembles a Perch in the early spring. Beyond that my go to colors are chrome with either a black, blue, or green back works just about any where.  Low light and night time I like real dark colors.

All I know is that my PB is with the berkley. But I will admit that my experience is not as much as some of the guys on here.

Definitely Lucky Craft ... except for the LVO

I mostly throw LVR Mini, LV 100, LV-500 and LVR D7.

I also fish my RatLTraps a bit. But I love to fish Vibrations in-and-around grass, and I love the LVR for that kind of fishing.

Fav. color will have to be Mad Craw ;)

Good old Chrome and blue rattle trap (hooks changed out)...I am going to give the strike king red eye in sexy shad a try this year
