what is your favorite copolymer

Featured Replies

im looking at different copolymers. Im looking for one with the obviouses, strength and abrasion reisitance. But im also looking for low memory and strength in lines with lower diameter. What is your favorite copolymer line?

For about five years now I've been used Izorline XXX. I've had 5 to 8lb bass wrapped around stumps while I got the boat to them to pull them off and it didn't break. I have yet to have a problem with it and I'm not changing my brand any time soon.

A lot of people really like Yo-Zuri Hybrid. I have it spooled up on most of my setups right now, in fact. It is pretty good line, but I still haven't found anything I like better than P-Line Floroclear. In my opinion, you really can't go wrong with either of those.

Used nothing but Silver Thread lines for years and never a problem with any of it.  Never had it break and some of the bulk spools I have date back  about 15 years!  Low diameter for line strength.

I really like P-Line, I fish mostly CXX and some Floroclear.

Another vote for the Pline Flourclear. I only use blended line on my spinning reels. I use pure FC on my baitcasters. And I would on my spinners too, but I've never found one that behaves well on a spinner. Just went through $45 of Sunline Sniper FC and Super FC, re-learning that fact. But the Pline is a great compromise.

Try these and see what YOU think:

Yo-Zuri Hybrid and Hybrid Ultra Soft; P-Line CXX;

Izorline. The cost is low, so if you don't like one

just toss it away!

I have tested a lot of brands over the past year

or so and still find Hybrid and Hybrid Ultra Soft

to be favorites. However, if price is not a concern,

Tatsu is THE BOMB!

I fish with two: Hybrid and CXX, imo, nothing can beat CXX when it comes to resistance for fishing rocks and/or wood, you can uproot stumps with it, only problem is the memory ---> more than a pack of elephants but if you keep the lb test low oh man, what a great line.

Although, it's getting harder to find I really haven't found anything I like better than Gamma. (Gamma High-Performance). I have tried the Izorline XXX as recommended here and found it to be a very good line. I plan on trying Yo-Zuri this coming year as it is also highly recommended and alot easier to find locally. But, you asked for our favorite, and mine is clearly Gamma.

How is the sensitivity of hybrid lines compared to monofilament lines? What about Fluorocarbon lines?

Thanks,

Carlos

Hybrid and nylon are monofilament Carlos, Compared hybrid lines have better sensitivity than nylon and less than pure fluoro.

I like Gamma better than Yozuri, but those are the only ones I've tried extensively.

Sunline Machine Gun Cast

Was P-Line CXX...

This year Im using Yozuri Hybrid Ultra Soft because of the great deal I got on it.  It is giving P-Line a run for its money so far.

I picked up some CXX to try this year on a couple baitcasters.  I'm planning to try Hybrid and maybe the Vicious as well.

But, I want to know how copolymers are for topwater... how is the buoyancy of these lines compared to nylon mono?  Does it sink like fluorocarbon?

I used to use co-poly's alot. But have not used em in a few years now. I use braid on a few rods , Big Game on a few, and fluoro on most. I just dont have a need for it anymore. Fluorocarbon was not real good or affordable years ago, but that has changed.

The 2 brands I used were YoZuri, the other Fluorclear by P Line. I really preferred the Pline. Only thing with that is I had to change it often, just didnt last long.

Yo-Zuri Hybrid and P-Line CXX both work equally well.

I prefer the Gamma High Performance over all & I also use the Yo Zuri Ultra Soft as well. I stocked piled the 8 lbs & 12 lbs gamma line in green.

I much prefer the yozuri hybrid ultrasoft to p-line cxx. The cxx is tough stuff...you can pull stumps with it. But the line manageability issues just made me look elsewhere. The yozuri seems just as strong and I have had no line manageability issues...even on the spinning gear.
