Had a trip this morning and we caught 40 fish in 13-20’.  Most on swimbaits.  Had had a couple good fish up to a little over 5lbs.  Went back at 4:00 and fished until 7:30 and caught 90.  The evening bite was on fire! I had one over 7lbs and probably 50 or so over 3lbs.  The last spot I pulled up on I caught 54 fish off of and only made 4 cast that I didn’t catch a fish on.

You catch more fish in a day than I do in a year! LOL..... sad... so very sad.

I thought it would be appropriate to bump this thread after hearing the bad news of @Catt's passing.  I don't fish Toledo Bend but this is a very interesting read for anyone.  I know Tommy took a lot

how is lanan fishing right now. I need to find a few fish midlake area and hows the water look there and in the back of lanan

I've been fishing Lanan this spring. Most of my experience is shallow lake with trees and grass. Keep that in mind while reading the low caught fish count. Water color is right on.

Lanan is fishing slow for me. Catching 1 here and there. Below the bridge water is stained, above the bridge the water goes from stained to muddy.

Caught 1 Friday.

Spent half the day off shore searching. Slow process but gotta say anticipation keeps me going.

Lanan is like the dead sea to me.  I have never had much luck in there.

Is there a public launch further South of Bayou La Nana that is close to the bridge?

Put another way...

...where is the closest public launch on the Louisiana side South of Bayou La Nana? Preferably a sheltered - off the main lake - never know about the wind.

How is the fishing in Bayou San Miguel?

Off shore fishing better on Louisiana side or Texas side?

Bridge Bay Resort (if open) is right next to the bridge on the south side.

A5Blaster seems to do pretty well in San Miguel.  He will be your man.

Hey guys, don’t post very often but always keeping up with this awesome thread. At my camp on San Pat now, be fishing mid lake all weekend. Will send a report when I’m done.

Uh oh, what happened?

I had 2 trips Friday.  Friday morning we caught 105 bass/whites and 13 perch.  Had a dad and his 10 year old son and that boy put a whoopin on us.  He probably caught 50 on a spoon in 28’ of water.  The afternoon trip was a little slower,  but we still caught around 30 on crankbaits and Carolina rigs.  The fish moved up into 18’ around 6:30 and we started catching pretty good.  Overall, it was a great day and my hands are tore up!

Kind of complicated and above the amount of frustration and anger I'm willing to deal with in life.

Maybe I’m wrong, but I’m sure this was directed at me, at least partially.  Sorry if you feel that way, but I’ve never once lied on this forum.  Every report I give is truth.  I know many people find it hard to believe catching 50-150 fish in a day, but come go with me and you can see it first hand.  Btw, as for “cashing checks”, I don’t tournament fish much anymore, but from 2015-2019 I won close to $40k out there plus a boat. You can go check the basschamps website in that time frame.  I won right at $28k just with them and it’s all posted online.

I have enjoyed reading this thread. Like I said before I do not get to toledo bend but once a year, but had hoped to change that this year and may still get back up there in the fall. I have no reason to think that the guys that post on here regularly, would have a reason to mislead anyone. I really do appreciate what has been shared on here and I enjoy reading about everybody's trips. I do believe that the lake still has a very healthy population of fish, one just has to go and learn the lake. So thank you to Catt, A5blaster and the others that have been so willing to try and teach others how to fish the lake.

What's going on in here?

Ahhh... nuttin' but dock talk! LOLOLOL....:happy-127:

I don't post often, but enjoy the normal exchange of stories, patterns, etc., in this forum.  It seems to me that we should encourage participation by as many as possible, especially from guides, if they're willing to discuss patterns, methods, etc., that allow them to be successful.  A little ribbing is normal among fishermen, and differences of opinion about limits, keeping fish, and other topics of interest to bass fishermen, are to be expected.

A forum that I follow because of interest in Table Rock Lake is OzarkAnglers.com.  Guides and other accomplished fishermen post regularly, and there are differences of opinion expressed often. There are also discussions about methods, baits and tackle, boats and accessories, and a host of other topics.  It's good information for a rank amateur like me, and if anyone thinks that discussions about keeping/eating bass is nitpicking, just take a look at similar discussions on that forum.

Catt has done a great job of moderating this forum, and we can hope that others will join in, without any of the contributors taking personal shots, on the one hand, or taking offense on the other.

What next????? A virtual group hug? Gimme a break. Someone post on here, hiding behind a made up screen name, and all but calls a couple of others, that post regular, liars; I'm not sure how that doesn't justify taking offense. I'm all for turning the other cheek - but only if you're looking for more ammo! :Karate:

Got a report. Me and the brother in law caught some chunky bass in the back of patroon spinnerbaits & muddy water. Your welcome.

Ha ha sorry. Seems like I messed it all up. I do that a lot. Here’s a simple tip if you use stoppers to flip. Especially if you use two and change weights a lot. Get you one of them sewing needles, small as possible, as long as the line will go thru the end. You can reuse them you know. Y’all welcome ?

I been useing bombers stops on my swim baits lately as well to protect the knot a bit better due too all the brush and grass it goes through.
