For the next 6-8 weeks I would pick areas with creek channels & slowly work them with deep cranks or jigs or both. Start at the mouth & work your back targeting every thing.

I'll cast to almost every stump!

Catt, when you say mouth of a creek, is that where that creek connects with another creek or river channel?

San Miguel where it meets the main lake is the mouth of San Miguel, any creek that meets San Miguel is the mouth. I'm talking the land not where they meet under water.

It's gonna be slow so accept it & fish slow!

Another technique is a Wacky Rig or a Texas rigged straight tail worm with a nail in the tail.

Thanks for the info Catt. The next time I'm up there I will be trying what you suggested. Catt would you concentrate on wood more since the grass is starting to die.

I do fish wood more but that's because I've moved

Into creeks. Now that is not saying I stop fishing grass or the main lake.

What areas in the main lake do you concentrate on at this time of year, near creek and river channels right? Also would you fish humps and ridges at this time?
