Here are some pictures and the video from the giant I caught at LaCygne this weekend. She weighed 10 ls 15 oz and released to fight another day.

Fished LaCygne Sunday- I started up lake and noticed quite a few boats in the river section. I pitched flooded brush and water willows for a while ending up with one fish about 2lbs.

Had another good day on Wolf today/yesterday/Friday, whatever you want to call it at 1am.

Hey Chine Walker, I believe those are fish lice.  We caught a bunch of stripers at Wilson that had those.

I was going to race those guys out at Wyandotte last night, but you had to pull up and ruin the fun. ;)  They thought they had a hot boat.....I'd have blown their doors off.

Mound City is good and so is Pleasanton.

Found an opportunity to fish some strip pits by Appleton City, MO. Slayed 'em on Saturday morning. 40+ and averages in the 2lb range. I will hit Mound City, and try Pleasanton, next though. Thanks for the heads up.

Any advice on a good boat guy in KC? My motor runs like a banshee, but my electronics are on the fritz.

Which electronics?  Your gauges or your humminbird/lowrance?

My accessory and my Humminbird/lowrance. I have one of each. bilge pump not working, nor is my live well. I checked the fuses...

Any of you guys that may need a trolling motor, or know of somebody that might need one... I've got a minn kota edge that I've been trying to sell for my dad. 24V 70lb thrust and it was only on the boat for about a year. I found a good deal on a maxxum so we upgraded. There's nothing wrong with it and would make a great motor for an aluminum boat. Without the variable speed it just wasn't guite enough for our fish/ski. Bought in May 0f '13 and was taken off the boat in June of this year.

I can attest to the fact this motor is in perfect shape, probably been used 12 times max.

Sounds like my kind of project.  I'd grab a voltimeter and start testing stuff.  I'd start at one of the pumps or at one of your lowrance/humminbird units and work backwards towards the battery to see if I could find a common point of failure.  Could be a bad connection at the battery or something along the way between the battery and the board.  If you're getting power to the board, then you can check the switches individually.  Each switch usually has its own breaker that you might check.  My lowrances are wired directly to the battery with a fuse in between so that I don't have to go through the accessory switch.  If your's is the same, then you've got something going on either at the battery connections or with the battery itself.

I have only posted a few times, but I am always watching. That sounds kind of creepy... Anyway, I am a bank fisherman for now and this year has been much tougher in small lakes and ponds than last year. I have caught 99% of my fish this year on Texas, weightless texas, or ned rigs. This past weekend was the first weekend of the year that I had a lot of success with hardbaits. In this case square bills and lipless. Did you guys in boats see an increase in chasing fish on moving baits this weekend?

Which lakes should I check out for shore bass fishing? A lot of the lakes that are highly regarded appear ( to me) to be primarily boat lakes.

I've seen a big decrease in the number of fish chasing baits actually with the warm water temps. The fish that are chasing aren't getting the bait very well either.

Douglas State Lake is probably the best one for shore fishing, Lone Star and Leavenworth SL are pretty good too. All have lots of fishing piers that hold fish all around them.

Does "your type of project" typically include cussing, distractions, random cleaning and organizing of boat stows, and minor electrocution? Because, if so, you should just come over. Ill supply the beer and anxiety!

Seriously though, I am looking for a pro. Only because I have a 6 month old, and also am finishing a remodel on the kitchen...

I have not had the deep cycle battery tested this year. It could be the issue, I guess. I will check that, and then see how far I want to chase this rabbit personally. After that, I might try this "Ray" from Lansing. I have tried US Boat Works, but they were a little pricy, and keep trying to convince me to trade in on a new rig...

This sounds exactly like one of my boat projects.  What better way to test whether you have power or not to something than minor electrocution?  :eyebrows:  Good luck!  Hopefully the pros can figure it out quickly and cheaply.

I'm not a fan of US Boatworks either but that's a whole other story for a future get together.

If anyone is up to it Fluke and I will be at Perry tomorrow for a few hours in the morning. If anyone wants to get in on a little friendly competition we should be out there by 9:30

Wish I could Clayton. Thinking about hitting up Hazel Creek in the next couple weeks. Never been there. Heard it's a good lake.

They love a rattle trap at Hazel Creek :eyebrows:  :laugh5:   I love that lake, wish it was about half the drive. We fished it about this time last year and did really well, caught several muskies too.

And I've never seen you catch anything but drum and catfish out of Perry anyways.

First of all Rattle Traps don't catch bass. and Second I got 3rd and big bass at Perry this year in the Kansas Buddy Bass. BOOM!

Grand prize will be awarded to he who catches the fewest drum.  Should be a good one.

You two should just come to melvern like us in the morning, or maybe you just like to punish yourselves.

I was thinking about getting out tommorrow while work is slow. Anyone want a back seat spot? I can be persuaded to perry or melvern especially if other members are there.

Melvern was terrible last time I fished it. I caught more good fish at Perry in 3 hours on the 4th of July out of just the marina than I did all day at Melvern on a weekday.

Good to know you learned something from going fishing with me all those times  :respect-059:

I did learn how to practically fall in the lake at Pomona.
