For anyone that is interested in meeting up about the fall get togethers or discussing the possibility of a week night tournament series, we'll be meeting at Johnny's BBQ in Olathe next Thursday at 6

Was talking about this. Still on?

Here are some pictures and the video from the giant I caught at LaCygne this weekend. She weighed 10 ls 15 oz and released to fight another day.

Fished LaCygne Sunday- I started up lake and noticed quite a few boats in the river section. I pitched flooded brush and water willows for a while ending up with one fish about 2lbs.

Sounds great. Thanks guys! Have an interview tomorrow at Olathe BPS as Maintenance Manager (I do facility maintenance and repair for YMCA's in KC now. Wish me luck!

Had us a wiper party at Clinton yesterday, including tripling up on some seriously stout fish. There was no livewell on this boat to pull from for the shot, we hooked into all three of these at once! Earlier in the evening the whole main body was a boil with mostly whites and some wipers, but the triple came just before nightfall after all the other boats cleared out and surface feeding slowed significantly. The wipers were still very actively chasing baitfish, just in deeper water outside of the flats as the wind had subsided.

Interesting factoid.

There was a rumor floating around here that ned caught a giant smallmouth at shawnee in topeka not long ago.

It wasn't a rumor.

6 lbs 10 oz.

he reported catching it in his blog last summer. Don't think he has any reason to lie about it.

In reference to the fall get together.

For those that weren't at Johnny's that want to know the details, the fall get together will be at Perry on October 11/12 with a back up lake of Cedar Creek Valley in Garnett if it's supposed to be windy or bad weather. Teams just like normal, you can fish one day or both days.

We also discussed starting some weekly tournaments and everyone was in favor of those. Going to start August 7th at Douglas State Lake in Baldwin City. Fishing 6-9, teams again, 3 biggest fish per team. Going to alternate Thursday nights and Saturday morning each week. If you want more details send me a PM.

Don't forget the ramp doesn't open till 8 am. They opened it around 7:40 this morning but normally they wait until exactly 8. Caught a few on a jig there today, nothing special though.

Thanks for the info. That'd be a few more than I've caught so far with the boat LOL

For those of you wanting to do the weekly deal, we may possibly have to change the location of the very first one due to a possible change in the size limits on Douglas SL. KDWPT's website now has Douglas listed at 2 bass over 18". I've fished out there several times and caught 2 over 18" in all those trips. If we wanted to do it by length it could still work but if we're wanting to weigh fish it would make it tough. I'm planning on going out there sometime after work this week to check the signs by the ramp to see if I can confirm what the limits are, the states website has quite a few errors and it's always been a slot lake as long as I can remember. If anyone knows for sure let me know otherwise I'll be headed out there to confirm what it is.

I have a pond hopper boat and would love to participate in some of the weekly tournaments!  Is it going to be a weigh/picture type or is a live well required?

Going to try to do a live weigh in but the 3 fish limit is aimed at helping guys like you so you could use a cooler for a livewell even in that little boat and still participate. Of course if someone with a bigger boat is fishing and needs a partner you could always fish with them too.

Sounds Good! I might just make a livewell with an old cooler I have laying around.  Hoping to fish the first one at Dougals, or whereever it ends up being.
