I was able to sneak out the other night after getting the kids to sleep and ran into a new PB! 6lbs 3oz at a little lake by my house. I found an offshore weedline in about 10ft of water on my portable

Kinda rough weather in northern IL today but I've been on this 3-day weather pattern the last couple weeks (fishing the 3rd day of warm day/warmish night trend) and today is the target day. I decided

Solid fish! With all this cold weather, idk when they're going to spawn! I have a tournament Saturday, it's going to be cold and wet. Makes for some hard fishing.

You fishing Anglers Dream on the river? You'll be fishing against the 2 in the red boat. My son Joe is the one in the grey with the TW hoodie.

Nice fish slone.

I am not in anglers dream. High school tournaments.

Good luck. Swimjigs were most productive. Bluegill colors work well year round. Pb&j is another good color as is the orange and brown seen on the jig fish in the pic. Best advice I can give you is if you find cover that looks good, make multiple casts to it.

Thanks. Rip rap is usually most productive for is.

You're missing out on  a lot of good fishing ground. There's not a whole lot of riprap on the Chain compared to other cover. Seawalls docks and wood, on the right lakes, at the right time, are very productive areas to fish as well as the reeds. I've been fishing the Chain for over 10 years both competitively and for fun. The jig bass was caught off wood which fishes well all season. Might be worth a look.

Were at the des plaines river. But we have fished stumps with mediocre success and yet rip rap has always come up to be the best for us

Good luck tomorrow and post the results

Super cold and windy day yesterday. People caught, not many teams did. But people caught. Me and my partner got one and I missed a nice one on a senko. We were fishing unbearably slow. But we did qualify for the final tournament day so that'll be fun.

My son weighed in 2 fish for 6th place. 1st weighed in a 12lb limit. I went out today looking for crappies and walleye. The water temp dropped 10* since last week.

Did not wven want to fish for bass this weekend...caught some good fish though.

Nice!

In the 30's last night started out slow rolling spinnerbaits, by the end of the day they were blasting out of the weed beds for buzzbaits.
