Boxer. I've had two of 'em. They are medium built, pretty face, short hair, beatiful dogs and very loving.

Hmmm, you may be onto something there.  Gidget likes what she sees too - your pictures dont come up for some reason though.  

Labs love to chew everything in sight for the first year or two... sooooo if you have Italian leather shoes, or a nice table with wood legs,, or a leather recliner,,,, it will get chewed on..

How about an Australian Blue Heeler.  They are very protective, and love to play but are not psycho like some of the terriers.  They are also extremely smart... plus they look very cool.

Look at the muscles in the right rear leg in the last pic, holy crap.  Very majestic.

This weekend, the Lunkerville crew got footage of "OJO the wonder dog" hunting bluegill.  She's an American Stafford (Pit) and she's a riot.  Has the discipline and intelligence to get it done.  The film grew thought it was a trip.  Only problem is when she gets bored w/ the panfish, her next idea is to tote rocks the size of softballs around with her mouth.  Just watching her makes me cringe and grit my teeth.

Been bit 5 times.  Twice by Corgi's.  Go figure.  They are tricky buggers,pretend to like you and then out of the blue,.....SNAP!

Well, I suspect Robert can afford to have the dog groomed.

They don't jump on furniture, so unless you spend a lot of

time rolling on the floor in your suit, I really don't think it's

an issue.

I think it's pretty rare for a corgi to bite, but they really don't

like guys in brown clothes who the dog thinks might steal his

trash! Our dog gets along with two cats, but doesn't allow visitors.

Malcolm's #1 enemy is squirrels.

Before you get a boxer, here's a couple of things that are the downsides. Other than these, boxers are a really great dog.

Boxers slobber and will get it on anything that contacts the inside of their jowels, or when they rest their head.

They shed just like any other dog. Because the hair is short it burrows into other fabrics.

They can be pretty gassy.

This was my experience, I'm sure others have had different. Mine was a quality bred dog as well.

Don't get me wrong RW, I was on the dogs turf both times so I wouldn't blame the dog or the owner,...kids at the house both times too, I'm just saying that they mislead you (or me anyway,lol) into thinking all is good till you let your guard down.  Like going to pet him for the tenth time and......YOWZERS,lol.

I think that there is a difference between hyper and active. Vizslas, like Weims (we have one), are high energy and require adequate excercise. However, they don't act like a hyper freak like a Jack Russell Terrier. A coworker has 2 vizslas and they keep each other occupied.

Yeah, Vizsla's are beautiful.  Maybe I should consider getting two for that reason.

I've got 2 Jack Russel's- 1 is a short coat and one a rough coat.... They are tremendous dogs... very smart and love to play....

But like everyone has said they need attention.... if they don't get it usually they find something to tear up.....  They have very interesting personalities to say the least........

My vote is call the local rescue groups.  You can find a resuce for about any type of breed.  Many time they have dogs that are a year or two old and you can really see their personality, something you cannot do with a puppy, no matter what breeder you use.

Pure breds also have a much higher heath issue rate than a dog with just a little mix.

Do what you feel is right but a dog with papers is no better than a dog with out.
