20,000 members. . . most memorable post/topic?

Featured Replies

As I sat on the computer the other night, my wife and I were discussing the fact that there are now over 20,000 members here.  I remarked about being around to see the first 1,000.  With such a milestone, what is one of the most memorable topics/posts that has been posted on bassresource.com?  Perhaps it is something funny, sad, heart-warming, etc.

I definitely think the funniest is Muddy's trolling motor lesson followed by Frogtog's cycling squirrel.

Anyone else care to share theirs?  (remember no "hot-button" topics are allowed)

I cant remember particular posts but I do know that Fourbiz or Burley are usually the start of them. ;D

"Frogtog's cycling squirrel. " by a mile.  I laughted till I almost peed my pants.

Man...I don't know how I could have missed this thread...

Five stars, maybe #1 of all-time!

;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

One of my most memorable threads was the first one I started in the smallmouth section about bending the barbs on hooks ("Bending the Barb" I believe). I was new to the forum, had little to no experience in internet forums, and was just throwing out a question and my thoughts. I remember reading all of the replies and being excited about having just found such an awesome fishing resource where there were knowledgeable fishermen willing to discuss fishing topics at length. I was pretty psyched that I found a place where I could learn so much about fishing...as well as "Everything Else", which has come to be the first page I scour when I come to this site :-)

All I know is that Fisher of Men changing his avatar is really messing with me. It has been the same as long as I have been here.

When will I finally have stability in my life?

Unlike you, Fourbizz, I don't catch double digits each outing. That's the biggest I've caught in two or three years, so I thought it was worthy enough to replace my old avatar pic. . . and I DID have a pretty roughed up thumb about mid-ways down, too! 8-)

And Tony,

Yes, I felt the same way when I first came around here, always at home.  I guess I frequent the "Everything Else" section more, too.  It's a great place to have some random friendly discussions about nothing in particular.

Don't get me wrong, thats an awesome fish, and certainly avatar worthy. But you are supposed to be our rock, and you just go around, changing things up all willy nilly and leave us hanging ;D

No worries.  I'm still grounded.  BTW- I didn't take it wrong at all.  I wish I had just a partial chance at some of those Cali-sized monsters. ;)

;D  Well . . . . I missed the "cycling squirrel" story too, so I just read it a little while ago.  I haven't laughed that hard in ages!  Frogtog is one heck of a story teller.

ROFLMAO for minutes at a time.  I swear, Frogtog needs to write a book of these stories.  These are hilarious!
