Pentagon Spokesman Bryan Whitman said earlier Wednesday he has "no information to suggest the 20 crew members of the Maersk Alabama have been harmed by the pirates."

I hope that's correct!!

Defense Department officials confirmed that one pirate is in custody. A U.S. official said the status of the other pirates is unknown but they were reported to "be in the water."

CHUM!!  That made my day!!

Excellent!  I'm looking forward to the full story.

Captain safe.

All three pirates on the lifeboat killed by Navy Seal snipers.

The "negotiator" pirate, taken into custody.

This is the best outcome I could have hoped for.

A hearty "well done" to all involved.

I like their ratio...(One shot, one kill). Wonder if they will coutrmartial the guy that missed.

A BIG Bravo Zulu to the Navy's Finest!

Wish there were enough of these guys to go around in order to ensure something like this never happened to another American Vessel or crew.

Hats off to the S.E.A.L.S.

Congrats to the Captain and crew and their families.

Man, everyone in this ordeal came out a hero.  The crew fought the pirates.  The captain offered himself in exchange for the ship and the crew.  The SEALs took out the remaining pirates.  Everyone acted in the highest standards.  Hats off to every one of them.

:-/ :-/Yeah I appreciate all you guys commending our navy, but we still have conflicts in Somalia that need to be dealt with other wise it will be a daily or weekly occurrence.

As you know they hijacked 3 more boats ( not the U.S.) last night, so I make my statement true about it happening over and over, that's why we need other countries to help fight these pirates, as you saw on T.V. you mess with us and threatin our citizens or our navy and you will pay the ultimate price!

No misses.  The fourth hijacker had requested medical attention on board the navy ship.  He went aboard and the seals had a shot at all three at the same time and took them all out.  The one that was arrested was the one that requested medical attention and was not on the life boat.

I will like to see a good old naval bombardment on their home base!
