how to go from calm to enraged.....

I think the easiest way to take a normally calm person and make them raging mad is an ex-wife.....

I am normally a very calm person, but reached the point of rage earlier. The ex-wife is trying to shaft me on the sale of a house in both of our names. The agreement was done 3 years ago, she is now trying to change the agreement because it doesn't work 100% in her favor. Now have to find someway to pay a retainer for an attorney to keep from being totally screwed......

Its on paper, its the actual divorce decree filed with the courts.

Hell hath no fury ...

WOW! Sorry Brian! That's really messed up! Those ex's definitely have a way of pushing the wrong buttons!

Don't even get me started  .  Your original decree should still be binding unless there are some mitigating circumstances.  Like behind on child support, haven't paid off your share of marital debt, etc.

My ex had me in court 11 times over 14 yrs and only won one ruling and that was an increase in child support.  I don't even want to add up all the money I spent on attorneys.  In fact, I still owe $1700 to my attorney from the last time we went to court.  I was FINALLY awarded custody :).

Geez dude, thanks for ruining my last hour before I go to bed by mentioning ex's.

Did I mention how much I despise mine?  She is SO lucky that I have somewhat of a level head.

Well, that's one thing I don't have to worry about enraging me.  I don't have an ex.

But, in 44+ years of marriage there have been moments................................................

The guy I used to work for years ago had this saying regarding his wife.

"I wouldn't take a million bucks for her, but I wouldn't give you a dime for a dozen more just like her."

I suspect there are wives who share that thought regarding their husband.

Ah yes, ex-wives.

Had to pay mine $80,000 to get rid of her.

Now married to a wonderful, slim, sexy, intelligent, talented lady so the $80,000 to get rid of the first one was worth it.

And believe it or not, my ex and I are good friends, getting along better than when we were married.  :D   ;D   :D

One thing worse, and I have one unfortunately

EX-Mother in Law

like an ex wife, only on steroids!!!!!!!! :o

if the house is still in both your names and the divorce didn't award it solely to one of you then both still need to sign to sell... seems to me that you have some leverage, assuming we have the pertinent facts.  (I'm only familiar with real estate law in a few states, so double check yours)

know ahead of that discussion, what your cooperation and ability to be further removed from her/this is worth. it may not be worth a little cash to rid yourself of the stress.

I'm with Fishing Rhino, 1st and only wife for me.  Divorce, never a real thought, but a fantasy at times........haha.

Knowing scores of people that have ex's, believe me it's not just the women that can be assh.....

Of course she likes you now, she's got your $80 Grand.

I have 3 ex's. Zero contact with any of them.

If it was only legal....I can also think of a few that can use it.

Sorry to hear that your ex-wife is such a @#$%^

I'm paraphrasing but I think it was Rod Stewart who said "I don't know why I should get married when I could just go out, find a woman I hate, and buy her a house."
