Antivirius Live....was the name of it.Fake virus protection program that's actually a trojan. It won't let you access any of your control panel.

Nasty frigging thing! It wouldn't let me run my normal virus scan or my malware/spyware scan programs.Completely shut me out.

I had to run in "safe mode" and get rid of it.Had to download a certain malware software designed to get rid of it..

Took me 3 hours...... >:(

Funny thing is this thing just pop in like an uninvited guest....I have no clue where it came from.Last place i checked out was this site, before everything froze on me.If anybody gets hit by this thing...PM me and I'll walk you through getting rid of it.

I was hoping someone threw a condom at you, but I am glad that didn't happen.  Just download Ad-aware and Spybot from Download.com

and you should download a good registry cleaner, like registry mechanic, this wipes out all your passwords you have saved for websites and stuff, but it makes your computer run a lot smoother.

My goodness what a pain in the BASS.  I was infected too.  Glenn supposedly found the culprit and kicked it's ars.  Glenn also showed me how to fix my computer, which I just finished after almost 3 hours.

avast caught it here. i assumed it was just me.

Go Linux!  I've used it for three years and absolutely love it.  It obviously isn't 100% safe, but better than Microsoft in my opinion.  And the best part is that since its 100% free, they don't hijack you every two years for an upgrade.

I just checked my history and there were two attempted "invasions" blocked by my Norton 360. I've never been a big Norton fan, but the 360 is by far better than anything I've used to date. My laptop doesn't have the resources to run the Norton program. Is there a good program out there for an older computer that will provide adequate protection?

It seems this trojan is running rampant on the Internet right now.  Here's how to remove it:

Any way to get my computer to stop acting slow? It's loading websites really strange.

So far I cleared the cookies and history, did a hard disk scan and defrag.

yea, I logged in to day and it says a trojan was on, actually nearly 7 trojans, but I deleted them, thank u avast!

I downloaded McAfee free of comcast for being a member and it slows your computer waaaaaay down but a couple of times a little window has popped up saying something like "the following wishes to access your computer, Trojan Virus, allow or deny?" One was off of a carp fishing website when I clicked on the photo gallery and i was stunned. Carp fishermen......

I got hit too but it was something like internet protection 2010.  Still fighting it.

That site will help you get rid of any trojans or viruses.  They will also help you speed your system up.

Thanks Glenn.  I think its gone now.  I just removed 9 fakes and trojans from my computer.

my first thought was you need to stay out of "those" kind of bars!  lol

But then again I've got a pretty twisted sense of humor!

I never thought people actually clicked on those links...what was it an ad for?

  • Super User

I never clicked on any link and I still got 2 of them, malware program took care of the problem.

  • Super User

I didn't click on anything either. Sneaky little buggers.

get something to block the ads.

Na, this one isnt from the adds.  I think it came from Google.  When I try and google something I get some stupid link to some other search engines
