I don't do drugs or alcohol

Featured Replies

I don't do drugs. {alcohol, is the worst, most destructive drug on the planet}

But if I were going to, I'd sooner smoke pot. Less dangerous, and destructive.

The very best high I can get though, is the natural adrenalin rush of sticking a big fish ! {fresh in my mind too.... after sticking that 25 lb Striper last week, my legs were just shaking ! :)}

That the way it should be!

Thank you Grimlin.

BTW, I don't condone the use of pot, either.

On the other hand, it wasn't pot that would have killed my father (if cancer didn't get him first).... and nearly killed my best, long time friend. Instead, it was the horrendous, yet legal alcohol.

More people use alcohol, thus, it does more damage than any other drugs. I'm sure if they do a study with same amount of people give one group meth and another group alcohol the result might be different. I'm no scientist of course, but I wouldn't be surprised if the results change...

We're all dying anyway.

Completely agree. Alcohol is just more accessible than "hard" drugs, which is why it kills more people.

Alcohol sucks.

It completely destroyed my dad.

Right you are. Which is why "hard drugs" are illegal. Alcohol is legal because it is more widely acceptable, AND the government can make money on it. ::)

yes, as it did my dad too!

Im very prejudiced against alcohol & all drugs.

I've seen nothing good from it, no one has ever built a good life from playing around with this stuff. I myself was an addict of hard liquor and innocent pot.

I wised up one day and took the steps and stopped cold!

I've seen man beat women, kids abused or forgotten, affairs, stealing, assaults, a investigation of rape and death!

All this from the same people that claim to be a casual drinker or a innocent pot smoker.

Years of seeing this stuff and then The day I saw my brother dead from suicide off a 4 day krank high was when i became so enraged and prejustice against drugs and alcohol.

People that defend this stuff and claim its ok in small amounts are no different in my eye than someone that claims the holocaust never happened.

I don't trust users, nor will I ever be a friend with them. They have a love in their life that will drive them to do what ever is convenient at the time of consumption that if it means a human life is destroyed then so be it!

I'd gladly and have been a friend with those that want to quit.

consuming liquor and or drugs is ignorant.

whats a mature adult?

one that can deal with feelings and what life has for them.

wise up people and be a real man or woman and face your fears and emotions and seek natural highs of life, instead of coward-ling behind a bottle or what ever drug you take. Quit taking lives and destroying others!

I know peeps that have done boo & blow daily and have built multi million dollar businesses, and other side have seen many go way down hill too, not everyone handles it the same.  I'm not taking a position on condoning or condemnation.

Reefer Madness must have aired recently on TV.

Some people abuse drugs, some people don't. Some people just react to them different than others. I've known someone who been drinking for long as I've known them and they haven't had a negative impact on my life at all..On other hand I've seen friends who had relative in which both hard drugs and alcohol destroyed their relationships. Two guys I went high school with and grew up with died before graduation from overdose of prescription drugs.

I only have drinks on the weekends. I don't binge drink. What I should be doing is having one 8 ounce of red wine every night, now that is healthy..that will extend your life.. So I've had read....

I believe in the balance of life. If you balance between drinking, eating, exercise, personal life, and work you will lead a normal life. If you spend too much time drinking, it could hurt you, you spend too much time eating, it could lead to many health problems. (which is why I don't get argument about high taxes on smoking because it causes health problems, so does eating unhealthy food excessively) Too much work and lack of personal life or the other way around could lead to unwanted stress which resort to abusing drugs.

I always try to live a balance life. go fishing with my dad, ride bikes, backpacking, make a living, have a beer, eat healthy, etc.

One of more thing, if you really hate drugs, don't drink soda. Please. ;)

Millions of people in the US use alcohol in moderation, with no ill effects. Perhaps those who become alcoholics should look within themselves for the reason they feel compelled to use until it ruins their lives, instead of blaming alcohol. Not everyone who drinks is "coward-ling" behind a bottle. Some just like the taste of beer or a good bourbon. There's nothing wrong with that.

Way to generalize most people on the planet, FishingBuds.  I didn't know that my having a beer or any other kind of drink on the rare occasion that I do now makes me a coward.  If somebody goes out, gets drunk, and kills themself or somebody else, it's not the boozes fault.  It's their fault for over consumption.  You have to know your limits and when you should stop.  Alcohol and drugs don't make people do stupid things.  Stupid people that over consume the product do stupid things (No, I don't condone drug use).

Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

My opinion is that I am responsible enough to drink a beer and not become a coke fiend the next day (hell, anytime for that matter.)  I know I have the self control to not let myself go where many people go.

I'm not a big "it's a disease" person. It's a lack of self control that leads people to addiction.  You make the decision to drink, smoke, snort or shoot. I've never seen a coca plant or a wonderfully delicious hop put a gun to someone's head and say "EAT ME!!!!"

Bizz, beers are on me buddy.

It's sad to say but you've alienated  a lot of people here.

He hasnt alienated me. More power to him for not liking it. I am a major fan of doing what you think is right, and NOT telling other people how to think.

I dont smoke pot either, but I see it as being far less destructive as well.

Alcohol is an inanimate object, it cannot be good or bad. The person using it makes the choice to control its use. Blaming the object is only an attempt to deflect responsibility.

Honestly have never tried pot so can't give a valid opinion on it.

FishingBuds, I guess this will be your last post on this website as its a sure bet most people who post here enjoy a cold beer or stiff drink of there choice.

I'm same way..If one doesn't want to drink alcohol, that's fine and dandy, I have no problem with people that don't drink. It the people that don't drink then tried to tell me what to do I have a problem with. There quite few people like that around these parts.
