It's hard to beat the original Rat-L-Trap.   They are classic and are proven fish catchers. Other than these, do other brands appeal to you?  If so, which ones?

I've tried the Rapalas.  It's the one Rapala lure I don't care for.  They seem to have less action than the Rat-L-Traps and mine always seem to some up sideways.

I like the XCalibur XR75 in chrome and black.  This is my most productive lipless on the tidal rivers and creeks I fish.  Nice actions, run true, loud and have great hooks.

I've also tried the Yo-Zuri Rattl'n Vibe.  I never see too much about these but they are great.  Like the XCaliburs they run straight, are loud.  Hooks are decent.

I've just started using the Yo-Zuri Hardcore Drum.  I haven't caught any fish on these yet, but they look great, run true and have fantastic hooks.  They are the loudest I've tried yet.  I can hear them reverberating on my boat hull long before the end of my retrieve.  

I'm looking forward to trying some of the new Rapala Clackin' Rap.

How about other brands?

I have had good luck with the Kinami, rat-l-traps, Xcaliber and the rattlin Rapalas.

strike king red eye, and my favorite is the strike king diamond traps (its just a confidence thing with this bait)

I like the Rattlin Rapalas as well as the Strike King Red Eye Shad.

The Cordell Spot is still one of my all-around favorites.....and I have over 20 brands of vibes.

The Air Viper Risebackers are also among my favorites......keep an eye on eBay and you'll see them pop up every once and awhile - - generally at very good prices.      

The "Soundless" model has a very slow fall rate and is a bait I reach for a lot in shallow, clear water.

The Rapala is my least favorite.......very little action, and when reeled slowly, has no action at all.      

Cordells, Bill Lewis', LC, and Rattlin' Raps have all been fine baits for me.

I use alot of Bill Lewis Rat-L-Traps, but my all time favorite is Luckycraft Lv-0.

my new favourite are the bill lewis red zone rat-l-traps. they suspends and are great for a fast retrieve with a pause then burn it again.

I like the Bill Lewis Rat-L-Traps as well, in fact for years it was all I used. This past spring I used the Strike King Red Eye shad and was very very pleased with it. It is now moved up in the rotation as the starter. Never cared mush for the Rapala's, but the new one Rapala has comming out look very very good and will get a try.

Rattlin Rapalas in Crome/Blue.

XCalibur XR50 in Royal Shad.

Strike King Red Eye Shad in East Texas Special or Sexy Shad.

XCalibur was by far my most productive this season.

My favorite lipless crank is bass pro shops XPS rattle shad. Cordell superspots are number two, and Rat L Traps are my third.

I think rapala's rattlin' rap doesn't have that good of an action.

Good bait!  Doesn't sit on it's nose like a Spot, but it has a great action at ANY speed.
