New 2 Bass, that is a beautiful fish.  Dude, so you didn't weigh it, but did you get some measurements?  You don't want to catch a PB and, at least, have some idea of what it weighed.  Awesome outing.  I'll bet your son is wound up and ready to fish.

Thanks fellas, that means alot to me coming from you guys!!!

As for the Doritos....its funny, my kid was eating them when this pig hit.  The moment I pulled her from the water.  My son dropped the bag of chips and started hootin' and hollerin'.  Kind of like I was.  We looked like two kids at a Chrismas gift opening.

As for size/length,  I am guessing 25-27.  She was bigger that my shoe x 2.  I wear a size 12 nike (which is 12") and my thumb to pinkey is 9" (like a Hang Loose).  Girth is somewhere in the 19-22.  I put the numbers into the cpu for the weight, but I cant believe she was really a double digit bass.  She didn't FEEL like one, well I've never held one, but she didn't feel like a 10lb dumbbell.  Maybe I was so amp'd on adrenaline I was numb.  What a feeling.  I know why you guys live for this!!!!!!

The weight is not so important (well, ok it is).  I went and got that photo enlarged to hang in my side of the house.  Too cool.

later

At the top of each Forum is a "Tacklebox" function. Inside the Tacklebox is a weight calculator. According to the BassResource calculator, 26" X 20" = 11.27 lbs.

I am truly humbled by everyones kind words.  I can only look forward to fishing my mattlures swimbait for some REALLY big sow.

Roadwarrior I'd love to believe so.  That pig, from the bank, on a lure, with my son.  Ha!!! (my live bait friends still look like this )

For the record, the monkey hasn't let go of my ankle yet.  I've looked at a bunch of scales in the last few days.  What the hey is up w/ the prices?  I can't believe what some of those things are going for.  Crazy.

A little tid bit for you guys....Everyone I tell the story to, gets the pictures.  They all say, "wow, big, etc".  But the one that kills 'em is when I tell them I let her go.  Some people can't believe it.  Its like I'm the nut.  Oh well.  I guess its not for them.

later guys.

I feel its a Florida Special that ate a 1lbr.

lol, where did you first hear this slogan? Just curious.  Because I first used that saying about 1.5 years ago on another forum here in Florida the FBF. I haven't been a part of that forum for a year now and I still hear folks using that term. I am wondering if you heard it there? ;D

Yeah I have used it here too. I guess that phrase is mine since as far as I know I was the first to use it. To be clear a Florida Special is a bass that is 13" or less. They seem to be the most prevelant here and thus the phrase "Florida Special" was born.  ;D

Other members who post here also post on the FloridaBassForum site. It was funny to see you use it. I have heard folks using that phrase all over the place now. I guess I started something with that haha.
