Nice fish t-rig 8-) What is the water temp now in yr lakes?

Nice fish.  I agree that your fish always appear the healthiest.

T-Rig,

It is about time you caught something!

Smile in your next pics, too. ;D

Keep 'em coming as we are not going fishing in Richmond due to the ice storm on the way and it is great to see what the other guys are catching.

Nice healthy fish T-rig.  What are the air temperature when you caught those fish?  When does the spawn usually start for your lakes?

Nice T-Rig.  That is three more fish than I caught this week  :)

Air temp. was about 60, water temp. high 40's. The spawn usually starts in mid april.

Nice fish and do they regularly catch 10+ fish there

I can cover that one for him, if he doesnt mind.  No, they dont have 10lb bass where Trig is.  He has the record, which I believe is at or around 7+

Lots of healthy, fat fish....no DDs yet.

Thanks speedbead. Yes, that's right. There has never been a DD caught here. As far as I know I hold the record with 7.9lbs. Last year the where a few 7lb.+ fish caught but the magic mark of 8lb. has not been reached. Here is my PB of 7.9lb.

man!  that is a beautiful fish daniel.  with fish proportioned like that it won't be long before there's 8's and then doubles.  like i said, i'm just blown away by how fat those fish are.  the top fin nearly touches the tail on that one.  forgive me for being culturally ignorant, but how long have bass been over there anyway?  wouldn't the climate support the production of double digit fish there?  it's not that much colder than over here is it?  and by the way, congratulations!  it's very cool that you are a record holder.  i didn't know that.  maybe you'll break your own record this year.  here's hoping. :)

it must be awesome holding the country record. we're cursed, our country record happens to be the world record ::) making it even harder to beat. oh well it is twice as special for whoever beats it.

what is that hanging out of the second bass' face on your original post?

Bass have been around for about a 100 years and the last time they where stocked was in the 50's. There has never been a DD caught and I don't think there ever will. The biggest I have seen was about 8lb. but I couldn't catch her. An 8lb. fish around here is like a 15lb. fish in California. :)

I'm sure if there was some fresh blood stocked we could have DD's in a few years.

The climate would support DD's but I think the bass here are a strain that just don't grow any bigger. The lake never freezes and the water temps. in winter drop to the low 40's. I also think this is caused by inbreeding. We need some of those F1 bass over here. 8-)

Ol' Daniel is quite the angler guys.  He's just getting warmed up right now.  I wish he lived closer to the states so I could raid his crank collection. ;) ;D
