How to save money on the trip.

1. Share the cost of a room or cabin with another member or members.

2. Share the the drive and gas money with someone.

3. Split boat rental and gas money with a partner.

4. Get a campsite and pitch a tent.

5. If your flying. Mail the bulk of your stuff UPS to the Lodge.

It is $40. Well worth every penny.

I just crunched some numbers and with me pulling my boat on a 1000 mile round trip, fishing for five days and camping, my total will be between $250 and $300. If I share costs with anyone it will go down from there. Not bad

Trust me guys this can be done on a limited budget.

I'd hate to commit to it and have things fall through at the last moment.

$250-$300? What are you gonna hitch hike and have them tow your boat? Eat out of garbage cans, and bath in the lake? How in the world?

I can't imagine spending only that much! From Pittsburgh, that much would cover just the gas to the lake!! ;D

Campsites are 18 bucks a night. It doesn't matter what the temp is to me. I love to camp. I'll be camping the entire week after Christmas and last month I spent four days in the woods in sub-freezing temps.

I have a 90hp motor on the back of my aluminum boat that is great on gas.

Dinners will be provided each night so all I have to plan for is breakfast and lunch on the boat. One stop at Wal-Mart along the way should take care of that.

I may have to camp!  I always loved camping when I was younger.  I haven't camped in 7-8 years though.

AJ (pitchinkid) and I are camping this year in his camper. Got it figured on spending about the same amount as Fluke. That is, if there is not another Bass Pro Shops along the way. The BPS in Sevierville hit me up for more than $500.00 on the way to Guntersville :-/

I think this trip is going to be a blast.  Y'all think about going.  The only trouble I found last year was not enough time in the day for fishing and talking to everyone.  You will want to do both.  There is always the evenings though.

Hey Before this gets out of hand. There are some major changes in the wind at work, for the better. There is talk, right from the top directly to me that I am in for a lot of training and looks like eventually more college, for my BA. I have to stay low right now, as the center is closed for winter break, when I know what is going on, I can let you know my participation.

Not a problem. We are as family frendly on the trips as we are on here.

Looking at cabins and rooms at the lodge it looks like the lodge is going to be the place to reserve a room this year. The reason for this is that the cabins only come with two beds. Last year they had four beds at about the same price so we were able to save alot money by splitting it four ways. This year it will be cheaper to get a room at the Lodge and split that cost between the two people.

From past experience we have learned that the camaraderie is the best when we stay close together. So those who are not bringing their bed with them please try to reserve a room in the Lodge.

I will be driving from Chambersburg, PA all the way to the lake.

Looking for someone to ride along and also to share a room with.
